  More than a transit hotel

  We only booked at a few hours notice. But were pleasantly surprised by what we found just ten minutes from the autoroute. Delightful service and good food. Easy parking. Maybe the room was a little small. It was on the second floor. After a good breakfast we were on our way again tanking up on the cheap fuel in the village.

  Exceptional Value for Family Room

  We booked a very spacious and comfortable family room for the five of us for two overnight stays, on the way to and back from Italy. The hotel was excellent and the swimming pool provided an excellent distraction for the children after a long day in the car. The food in the restaurant was very good indeed. I have to commend the hotel staff are brilliant and could not do enough for us. We felt the hotel offered exceptional value for money and having stayed their twice would not hesitate to recommend it for families. We will definitely stay here again when driving though Europe.

  A really nice place

  A very pleasant surprise. There is nothing fancy at this hotel, its like a little step back in time. Staying there is so positive, you feel very welcome. The room is very good, well maintained and new in style compared to the overall hotel design. I must praise the staff, super service. The restaurant at the hotel are good, superb food and wine at fair price level. If you are into running outside, there are excellent routes in the surrounding. A place to return to.

  Make sure you book direct otherwise suffer at dinner

  Driving down to my home in Greece. Long journey with three overnight stays. Decided to choose this hotel as five hours drive from Zeebrugge. Located very close to the route. Booked it through booking.com. Travelling alone with dog. Good thing is they accept pets and my pooch was allowed in the dining room. Novel! Anyway I digress. Menus posted outside and menu presented both held same information. Cheapest set menu was 25, most expensive 60. Give or take a couple of euros. Most basic menu was basic. Chose the 39 menu for three courses. Not cheap but choices seemed better. Was the first diner so didnt understand that there was another hidden menu which was subsequently offered to fellow diners. I asked to view this menu having already eaten two courses from the menu I had seen. On this menu which would appear to part of the Demi pension was good choices and would have been my choice if I had been offered it. I cant say how much cheaper or reasonable this menu would have been had I taken part in the Demi pension offer. But I suspect its much cheaper. The other thought I have is that Im the only english person, non French speaking in the restaurant and obviously oblivious to the nuances of French hotel practices. But somehow it leaves a bitter taste. My advice? Book direct or through Logis.com. Ask for the Demi pension deals and avoid booking through booking.com otherwise be prepared to be misled.

  Quietly comfortable and very nice staff

  August, 2019-we were visiting a friend in Phalsbourg and discovered this very nice estate hotel just up the street from the Notre-Dame de Bonne Fontaine. The staff was extremely accommodating of our late arrival and of our late night returns from sightseeing in the Strasbourg and the surrounding area. Our room was very clean and large for the typical European hotel. The dining hall and breakfast area are open and inviting and the food is wonderful. It is obvious that the owners and family all are committed to making a stay here memorable. We were here for 4 nights and traveling with another couple. We did not encounter any language issues-we don't speak any French-which made our stay even more enjoyable. If you are in the Phalsbourg, Danne et Quatre Vents or Saverne area we highly recommend Hotel Notre-Dame de Bonne Fontaine. And, don't miss a visit to the church!
