    Horrible

Do not stay here....... DWP only

It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Ive been in better barrack blocks. The outside of the hotel looks good, the foyer is huge, looks somewhat sparse, uninviting and dated. The women and children in pyjamas should have been a clue as to what sort of hotel it was. So should the sign stating No visitors allowed in the rooms. And I also found it rather odd that we had to get the room key reauthorised every time we left the hotel. The stairs and hallways were very tatty, the worst thing was the lingering smell of curry, it certainly didnt smell appealing like the local Indian takeaway. Upon entering the room, the first thing we noticed was how tiny it was, then that the curtain was hanging off, then how tatty it was. The wardrobe had no back and no doors, which was a good job really as the side wall bisected a plug socket. The paint was peeling off the window cill and from around the radiator. There was an oil filled radiator in the middle of the floor alongside an under counter fridge that was just plonked in the room Weird! The bathroom was nearly as big as the sleeping area and just as tatty. A 1960s metal window that had a howling gale blowing around it, the door was fixed with duct tape, painted over then more duct tape applied on top, the lock on the inside and outside (why) of the door were both broken and there was no plug in the sink. At least the sheets were clean. You'd only stay here if the DWP were paying like most of the other guests we encountered.

Should have to advertise its status by law

I cant really complain about the room. For the price I would not expect much more. It was clean at least. However, the hotel is clearly used by homeless and people who have not yet found permanent residence in the county. I have no issue with this, but at the very least the hotel should advise people booking that it is used for these purposes and that they will naturally have to deal with the type of things that can come with a hotel providing this service. Honestly I just thought I got a cheap room because of the Coronavirus. Nope! Just beware, its cheap for a reason.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This is quite possible the worst hotel i have ever stayed in and ive stayed in lots of hotels. I arrived at the hotel and there was a large gathering of people outside the hotel all in their PJs smoking weed at the front of the hotel which in hindsight i should have realised then this wasnt a place i should have stayed at. From there i went to check in at the front desk, Out of the three people on the front desk it took them all 30 minuted to finally check me in to the hotel even after i gave them all of the confirmation numbers for the reservation. I went up the the room and the first thing i noticed was the overwhelming smell of curry that was unavoidable no matter where in the hotel you went to. and the second this i noticed was how loud everyone everyone was being... And all this was before i even got into the room I got in to the room, carpets were stained, walls stained and everything was just tacky and disgusting. The sheets were clean at least which is the one thing that wasnt bad. I could only manage to be in my room for an hour before i had to get out of there because of how loud the other guests were. The person in the room next to me had three kids in the room that were all shouting and the parents obviously didnt seem to care at all. There was someone in the hallway down from me that locked herself out of the room and decided that instead of going to the reception like a normal person she decided to go down banging on every door along the corridoor shouting as loud as she could telling everyone to call the police because she had to get back in her room and that was just the people on my floor, never mind the people above and below because they were just as bad At this point i was ready to cancel the booking and id not even been there for an hour so i left the hotel in the hopes it would quiet down by the time i got back. I was wrong. I came back around 11pm hoping to just go to bed when i came back but nope. The kids were still shouting but this time the parents were shouting at them too and this didnt stop until about midnight. The next morning i went straight to reception and asked them to cancel my booking and explained the situation but they said no money back and id have to pay a cancellation fee too so i was stuck with this for the rest of the week. I asked the person on reception to speak to the people on my floor about this but i got there that night again reluctantly and nothing had changed apart from they were maybe louder this time. Not to mention every time you leave the hotel you have to reset your card at the reception which isnt helped by the fact that the poeple there dont seem to be able to understand english very well. so to conclude DO NOT STAY HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND IF WERE LUCKY THEY MIGHT BRING A BULLDOZER TO THIS GOD AWFUL PLACE SOON
