  Excellent starting point for excursions in Ammerland and Ost Friesland

  We stayed one night in the Ringhotel Amsterdam. The hotel is ideally located for excursions in and around Bad Zwischenahn in Ammerland, known for it's park landscapes and tree nurseries. You will find a friendly staff, homemade cooking, excellent breakfast, modern facilities, bike rental. you name it, the Ringhotel Amsterdam got it. From the hotel you easlily walk or bycicle to the center of Bad Zwischeanahn, 1.5 miles away, located on one of the nicest lakes in Germany. Rent a boat or take a boatride, visit the openair museum, it's free, and enjoy the local homemade 'Kuchen' in Spieker Gaststätte. There are so many things to do. This area is known for its gardens. Visit the Park der Gärten. Best is to walk through the lively towncenter to the Park. In the evening an nice dinner option is restaurant Ahrenshof. Fine dining in a old Ammerland farmhouse. From Bad Zwischenahn you can easliy reach the old town of Oldenburg, worth a visit and the town of Wilhelmshaven which harbours the interesting German Navy Museum telling you everyting what there is to know about the U-Boot. Another day you can take a boat to one of the Northsea islands like picturesque Langeoog or the more faraway rocky island of Helgoland, famous for it's colony of selas and gannets.. You won't be bored in Bad Zwischenahn. The friendly staff will help you out with your daytrips.

  Pleasant friendly hotel

  Stayed here for one night on a stopover. All the staff were very friendly, probably the most genuine friendly hotel I have encountered in Germany. The rooms were of average size & had everything needed for a one night stay. The restaurant was average but a small selection of meals. There are plenty of other places around to eat though. Nice area but I should have asked for a quieter room as we were roadside - this didn't stop me getting a good nights sleep, just I prefer a quieter hotel room. The rooms are soundproof however. Plenty of walks nearby & the lake is lovely to visit. Bike ride would be nice but we had no time unfortunately. Worth spending a couple of nights here to enjoy all the area offers. The hotel has bike hire available & is in a rural part of town. Breakfast was great with ample selection of choices available including hot food. Overall, very happy with our short stay & the friendly staff made it even more enjoyable. Wish I had time to use the sauna!

  A Hidden Gem

  Friendly and efficient staff, easy check in. Lovely spacious room with openable window. Lovely restaurant in premises. Had wonderful meal, with alcohol, for 36! Finished the day with sauna. And free parking!

  Great package

  Really liked this place - exceeded expectations - for the price - it's a bit of a walk from town if you're not in a car - but through lovely countryside around the lake - so a delightful approach on a good day - the rooms are really comfy and nicely decorated - and the whole hotel has an immaculate feel to it + great breakfast, friendly staff and relaxing garden, nice architecture - chalet style round a central courtyard - definitely a great choice in a lovely spa town. Hope to return

  Very comfortable

  Stayed overnight here. Very prompt check in. Room was comfortable and clean. Parking good. 20 mins walk to the town centre and lake which is all very nice. Breakfast was very good. Staff we met were all very nice
