  Worn down and outdated

  We had booked 2 double rooms, but was upgraded to rooms with view tom the lake, after asking for it, so that was very nice of them... very nice view overlooking the lake, but room very boring and the bed absolutely a nightmare, i could feel all the springs in the box madres, breakfast was included but not many choices

  Clean comfortable business stay!

  My colleagues and I stayed here for a conference. This was a comfortable stay. Wifi was powerful and dependable. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had plenty of choices for a range of tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful.

  Worn out.

  We booked a room at this hotel from a gift card we received for a one night stay. The gift card was for 2 people inclusive 2 breakfast. When my husband called to book, he was informed that it was a little double room! This meant that the bed for 2 people was 140 cm wide!! However we could up grade to a business room for 200dk extra. This we did, but somehow felt cheated. Upon arrival the area outside of the hotel is beautiful the hotel is directly in front of the water. We parked our car in the large fairly empty parking place but immediately noticed that hotel guest must pay 35dk to park each night! This I found hard to understand considering its outdoor parking. But again we paid that too. We were then given keys to our business class room, not informed about breakfast (neither time nor place). Upon entering our room, the stench was unbelievable, we immediately went back to reception to request another room, which we got. The rooms are very dated. The bathroom looked like it could use a good cleaning and a few upgrades. Tiles were cracked in some places. The hotel offer a buffet dinner at a set price. We looked at the buffet. It was very sad looking and not very tempting at all. We chose to go into the city center where we had a great meal at half of the price of the buffet. All in all I will not go back to this hotel. The staff were not very welcoming and friendly nor were they good at giving the necessary information upon arrival.

  My stay left me with a bad taste

  A hotel or restaurant can get away with a lot if only the staff is friendly and service minded but this hotel had not all but a few staff with an attitude problem. Firstly the reception was not manned after 18.00 at not all the time until 18.00. You had to ring a bell to get their attention in both the bar and the reception especially after 18.00 and when you did get someone to come it felt like we were disturbing them. They were very bad at answering the phone and after 18.00 no one did. The young head waitress by way of greeting us upon arrival after a full day of travelling on a flight, 3 trains and a taxi said that I had no reservation although I had a confirmation of the reservation and the restaurant was not more than half full if even that. After reluctantly seating us at a table out side she told us that we could only have the a la carte and there were 3 main dishes to chose from. She then went on to tell us that even though it said that the bar was open until 24.00 they would close it at 22.00 if there was no one in it at that time. The 2 main dishes we chose were good. The next day when I asked for a recommendation of restaurants the receptionist made me wait and took other guests in between then finally printed out a list and I asked if she could help me to recommend anything, she put a cross in front of one (it was a good choice) and when I asked her to do a reservation she just said in a very unfriendly way, "you can do it yourself". When I asked if I could help with a car rental she just said no and when I asked for information about the golf course she just said that there was one and turned back to her desk. If a light broke it says in their brochure that you can go and get a bulb in the reception...! The young head waitress had the same bad attitude on our last evening when we decided to eat there again for practical reasons more than for pleasure. This time there were 2 main dishes out of 4 on their a la carte menu to chose from and as I didn't want to eat meat I took the same salmon dish again which 3 days earlier and according to the menu was to be served with asparagus, this evening they instead served it with cabbage which was not nice and when I commented on the difference I was rudely told that asparagus was not in season... which of course was not true. I saw other guests being equally badly treated. The breakfast buffet was limited in choice and not something you longed for. The room, I think they called it a mini double room was just that and very dated. The so called double bed was more like a single and as the room was so small the bed was pushed up against one wall with only 1 bedside table. The place needs money spent and a lot of staff training.

  Stay nice at "Haderslev Dam" in Southern Jutland

  The hotel is rather expensive - but not very luxurious. On the other side it´s absolutely OK - the dinner was fine - and breakfast also good - and you can read local newspapers. I could see there were offers for a longer weekend - then the price was more reasonable.The surroundings wre in top !
