best yetbeen going to Kos for many years been at few different hotels and I can truthfully say Niriides is the best yet, location is just a little more out of town than you may think but a pleasant stroll can be there in 40 mins a little longer if you call in at the marina and have a refresher. the rooms are a bit better than the usual greek apts we had b32 had nice views to the left the sea and in the distance the Turkish coast, on the right the mountain, rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels every other day unless needed sooner. As soon as you arrive you are made very wellcome by Smaro and Stavros (the owners) . the pool is a nice size and has a kids pool, but beware after sitting in the sun the water feels freezing lol poolside has a lot of loungers and as we went in October spoiled for choice although in high season you have little choice first come first served kind of thing there are more over the road on the private beach, part of it sandy ( sand is imported to top it up as needed the ) forward part is shingle would take beach shoes or flip flops, and the sea feels a lot warmer than pool. There is a pool side bar where you can buy food and drink at very good prices, Kyros always smiling (and not a fake smile) who runs it does a great bacon and tomatoe baggi, his breakfasts are really good value and lots of it. for self catering there are 2 super markets close by with lots of choice be it English or Greek food with a smattering of other countries as well prices about the same as

Niriides ApartmentsA great place to stay, good clean rooms and friendly staff. Well out of Kos Town but an easy walk or short bus ride. Easy access to beach with plenty of beds and brollies pool also well supplied with beds. We had an apartment with two bedrooms only one of which had A.C. which was disappointing as it was very hot.

Excellent Holiday - Relaxing Enjoyable Stay! Highly Recommended.10/10Hi all, stayed at Niriides Hotel and Apartments in Psalidi, June of 2015. We had a wonderful time and would return tomorrow.I highly recommend this hotel and apartment complex.First of all, Hotel Niriides is nicely situated 60 yard's from their private beach, just off a main road direct to Kos Town, easily accessed by bus or on foot. Bus stop is just across the road - 1.50 to Kos and 1.20 return. You can hire bikes for 5euros per day from a hire shop around the corner. Many tourists hire bikes to travel around - a great way to explore the area - road's pretty much all level unless you want to go up the mountains which form the background to the hotel. Wonderful views of the mountainside and on the beach, you can see the land's of Turkey in the distance! There are many boat trips available (reasonably priced) in Kos Town and also the tour operator. Great staff at the hotel- A big thankyou to Stavros the owner - such a very good person who looks after his guests, he certainly looked after us. Stavros joked with me; "One more misquito bite and you will have to go to hospital!" I thought he was serious but we laughed about that! Yes,the mosquitoes like sweet blood and mine at that!Stavros came to the rescue and sprayed my poor legs with ointment which took away the pain from the bites - take plenty mosquito repellents and cream's, sprays for your skin - these are pricey in Greece. You can get sprays to prevent bites in supermarkets. Supermarkets ten minutes walk - fuel station two minutes away sells basics.Lots of chemists there which is good. The cleaners Anna and Maria - best cleaners we have ever had - so friendly and sincere, they made the most amazing art forms with our towels, including swans on water(the bed sheet immitated the water) fantastic little surprise's, sometimes flowers and hat shapes accompanied by a cinnamon biscuit or a sweet from the cleaners for you returning from your day out.I thought this talent was amazing! Thank you Anna and Maria! Nice little treats to come home to on a night! Sweet ladies! Bless you's. Even staff from the food and drink bar to staff on reception were exceptional. Very helpful and informative. They really can't do enough for you. So very good. You can change money here too. There are tennis courts, netball, basketball courts and a place to play football near the beach. There is a great swimming pool in complex, deep enough for diving and a shallow end, also a separate children's pool. There's a great space for children to play too. Would be great if Stavros could have a soft play enclosure (with sponge balls and safe obstacle course) for the children. Met a young couple with baby and this facility if available, would have much improved their baby girl's holiday experience as it would others too. Pool's all very clean, plenty sunbeds to go around.I had a super time racing the kids in the pool on our inflatables - trying to get on it had me in fits laughing! (hi Ewan from Wales! Great time - he never knew I was a teacher and medal winner swimmer but he won me at 5-2! There is a great atmosphere in camp so to speak, met holidaymakers from all over the UK. Hi all! Shared daily experiences of our travels-some lovely people. You could hire a car and go see places and there were ferries that can transfer you and your hire car to other islands. There are trips to 3 islands! Shame I get sea sick! The town itself is won derful, lots of places to eat and drink and what I liked most was that Kos had many seats/benches where you could sit and rest from the heat and tired feet.I would not advise on the twenty minute to half an hour walk into town in the heat if you are elderly with illness or disability, get yourself the bus there and back.It can be too much even on the flat. Taxi's are approximately 7-9 euros - the bus even cheaper.A great place for shopping. I loved a shop called the "China Shop" in town which sold designer clothes, shoes, sandals, bags, costume jewellery, watches, shorts,T.shirts etc! I loved my shopping time there. A bakery close by, sells delicious rolls, cakes, bread etc. There is much history to the island and Kos Town has many ruins, some very beautiful. Very interesting is the site of St. Friday's Church in center of town as it is so nicknamed, was beautiful to sit beside and watch the world go by with an ice-cream and a slush from shop alley(an ice-cream stall up a main narrow shopping street) - very calm and relaxed. The hotel Niriides also had it's own pretty little Church and bell. The bells would ring on Sundays and this was a memorable touch to our holiday. The tune was lovely, (wish I knew what the tune was called) mind you, some little hobbit had disempowered the Niriides Church bell by restricting the dong with plastic bags to stop it from ringing - this was a funny prank that brought a laugh and a smile to holidaymakers. It was lovely chatting to others everyone saying hello.Holiday reps are wonderful lovely helpful ladies - super girls. Facilities: you can hire the room for longer and if not, there are shower, toilet and changing facilities downstairs in the main part of the hotel. Ideal!English speaking staff too. Also, the hotel grounds are kept prestine by caretakers and gardeners - super gardens dotted about the complex. A mention has to go out to these men who tend the complex and gardens. It is refreshing walking through the terrace's of flowers and fruit trees. The Hotel and Apartments Niriides is a fantastic place to stay and this is why people return there every year and I will certainly be returning for sure! God bless this place. Amen!

Good valueThis hotel is a nice place to stay. Rooms reasonably comfortable, our balcony had 2 soft chairs that was a first! Self catering facilities were a bit limited, could have been laid out so much better . We went early October so pretty quiet but it meant plenty of room at the bar inside the hotel or outside. No breakfast, lunch or dinner served inside whilst we were there, but the snack bar by the pool was open serving English breakfasts, burgers etc. The pool was lovely so much space but I expect at the hight of the season it might be a little different. The rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed after 3 days . Just a couple of minutes walk to the nearest supermarket, man made beach with sand and tavernas. The only drawback was the trek into Kos town,a good 30 minute walk if you wanted a better choice of tavernas or shops..Car rental is recommended or why not try hiring a bicycle as this area of Kos is pretty flat. Overall a pleasant place to stay.

Relaxing WeekStayed for a week in September 2017. Had a one bed apartment in gardens at rear of property number 16. Clean, plenty of self catering utensils, micro wave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle and toaster. View of the sea between apartments from balcony. Room comfortable with TV. Regularly cleaned each day and towels every other day. Only issue was my wife had uncomfortable mattress. Turned it over and it was fine and drainage drain in toilet smelt (not unusual for Greece). small bath with shower available. Large pool with shallow and deep end. Access by steps only though. Plenty of sunbeds and pool bar serving snacks and drinks. Nick kept us fed and watered with nice complimentary offerings. Only moan was no frozen glasses for beer and some plastic glasses used. Children's pool available with easy access. Thomson advertise this complex as small and friendly but has around 120 units, 73 or so in the hotel and 40 0r so apartments in the grounds. This is the biggest small and friendly we have stayed in and did not get to meet the family that run it as in other small and friendly places we have stayed in. The hotel has a reception, bar , pool table and TV and serves great value breakfast including continental, cereal, yogurt, pancakes, tea, coffee, toast , croissants, fruit, boiled egg, scrambled egg and fried breakfast all for 5 euro per person. Also, nice shower and changing area for late check out. Safety deposit and air con available. There is also a small church on site. 5 tavernas in easy reach of which Blue Ocean and Nestoras are excellent. However, the Snack Bar Harmo next door is a must for breakfast and lunch or just a beer (frozen glasses) or coffee and fresh juices. Michael and his family are excellent hosts and really made us feel welcome. Their hospitality is second to none and the food is excellent especially the Gyros pita rap. There is a beach across the road with a man made sand beach with sunbeds but sea is rocky and beach shoes are needed. Kos Town is about a 25 minute walk but plenty of local buses stop near by or taxis. Be aware that the road that runs past the complex is very busy. There is a cycle/pedestrian pathway on the beach side. Next door is a petrol station with a small mini market and turn left and 500m are larger market and gift shops plus cocktail bar. All in all we had a very relaxing week. However, as I said this is the largest small and friendly Thomson complex we have stayed in and I would imagine that it would be very busy in July / August. .
