    Pleasantly surprised - really nice hotel

    I'd booked here as it was the cheapest of the 'official' 70.3 Ironman hotels to stay at, and must admit to reading the trip advisor reviews the day before I arrived with a bit of trepidation! But, on balance, it proved to be a perfect hotel for that event... On the positive side: - The room I had was massive, plenty of space and well laid out with a great bath, shower, walk-in robe and separate toilet (and a nice view) - Really comfortable bed and bedding - I slept very well here! - Staff were all very friendly and obliging, and whilst not all speak great English there are enough who do for anything important Slight negatives / issues: - I had booked a non-smoking room, and was initially given a smoking room which gave me a headache in 10 mins, so I asked to change - which they did with no fuss at all - I ate at the banquet one day which was absolutely fine - on another day I had room service (croque monsieur and fries) and it was dire! - It's very odd that you have to pay extra to use the billiards table and table tennis - If you plan to swim, make sure you have a swim-cap As some of the other people have noted, the hotel is very impressive, but does feel a little like it's lost a bit of it's sheen since it was last built or refurbished... But, friendly staff, nice room and a comfy bed far outweighed any negatives and I'd stay here again

    Good hotel though a little out of town

    A little out of town but still a lovely hotel. Spacious bedrooms with good shower/rain shower and bathtub. Checkin was efficient and sufficiently quick. Breakfast had a large enough variety though leaning more towards Chinese foods.

    Lovely hotel, perfect location for the convention centre

    We stayed at the Nikko as it was close to the Xiamen marathon start and finish outside the convention centre. It was a beautifully appointed hotel with terrific views and wonderful staff. This hotel is on the opposite side of town from the main tourist hub because it is out by the convention centre but there are cheap taxis which can get you about. We had an excellent room with a comfy bed and bath with a view. There was even a balcony with sea views. The pastry shop was terrific with half price cakes from 7pm! The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the buffet and sushi restaurants, they were somewhat hit and miss but worth a try nonetheless!

    Overnight in Xiamen

    This was an awesome hotel. The room and restaurants were super. The front desk was helpful to arrange a taxi tour. This place exceeded my expectations by far. I would recommend this place to US travelers that want 4-5 star experiences.

    Very pleasant stay in Xiamen

    The second time in Hotel Nikko Xiamen we were offered a free room upgrade. The rooms were clean, large and very comfortable. Especially the bath room was really nice with a good view towards the beach from the tube. Breakfast was very good and offering a large range of different and delicious foods. All service was also very well. The staff is really friendly and helps on any matter with full power. Next time we will again book this hotel!
