    OK for overnight stay

Needed to stop overnight in Nhill and the room was as expected. Bit old, but suited our needs. Continental breakfast at reception was good. Staff were helpful during our stay. We stayed warm on a very cold night.

    Simply don't bother-BUGS. see pics

Looking for a quick over night stay, nothing fancy so this seemed ideal. First impression was old fashioned but fine for what we needed it for Settled in, had a shower, went for dinner in the local tiny town, came back, for comfortable for the night& my partner kept seeing moth/fly/silver fish type looking bugs flying round, which we thought was just because the door had been opened when we came back and it had flew in. Then these started to become more frequent and crawling over the pillows & bedding. To which we thought this can't be right?? Looked down by the door, to see the mat was absolutely swarmed in the things. So we tried to remove them the best we could & wedged the underneath of the door with some towels and bags to weigh it down, incase they were coming in through the door. Time passed and so far so good, until we then seen large ants crawling across the floor .. gross. We hadn't ate in the room so unsure as to how this was happening, we killed them and carried on. To then find ear-wigs crawling on the carpet. By this time we were almost scratching our skin off as it felt horrendously dirty. I had enough by this point and phoned reception, no answer. Phoned another 4 times and eventually got an answer (no other number given to guests for emergencies is a pain in the arse may I add) explained to the man and he asked me if I wanted 'bug spray' ????? I laughed my head off, demanded to change room, yet he kept trying to reassure me this was normal? I have NEVER stayed in a motel/hotel/airb&b/accomodation where I have had bugs crawling over my bedding and or the floor so frequently as they were here. Here are the excuses I was given as to why there was bugs 1. It happens all the time, they come from outside ... GROSS 2. It's the weather.. okay but they shouldn't be in the room? 3. The town is infested by them that's why ... Ok again but shouldn't be in the room? 4. It's because you've had the lights on?.. so I'm expected to sit in the dark at all times? He then pointed to the light outside and tried to tell me it was because I had the light on inside that they were attracted to that, he was belittling and down right rude. NO customer service. He then handed me a new key for a new room and proceeded to say 'ive checked for bugs and theres none' 1. Why should you have to check for bugs in a room that you rent out to people? 2. That's not funny when someone feels disgusted to be staying there, but at 1am I had no other option. Got into the new room, to do a quick look myself, there might of been no living bugs, but dead ones instead. It was absolutely filthy. Im not one to complain about things or kick up a fuss but I was actually disgusted. My partner and i, never slept the majority of the night for scratching and paranoia of something being there. Handed back the key the following morning to not have any remorse for us or ask how we were after moving rooms.. it was 'help yourself to the breakfast' ... I simply would rather go without & we did. See pictures- but also doesn't help when we're leaving and the person is cleaning the rooms has EVERY single door to one open , no wonder theres bugs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just don't bother. $105 for that is extortionate, I would of asked for my money back but there was going to be no reasoning with the guy.

    I stayed there for 2 nights 18th and 19th november 2019

I found the room to be old but clean and comfortable and the owners were extremely friendly I was in the town looking at buying a house and the owners were happy to tell me all about the town and helpful with information, the breakfast was nice and plentiful and given that it is part of your room rate found this to be good value I would stay there again and the pinball museum is great fun with all the pinball machines in working order and playable great fun thanks for your friendly service great job guys.

    Comfortablet beds

We were allowed a late check in which was most convenient, following an unavoidable delay reaching the motel. The room was quite small, but the beds were comfortable. It was handy to have a bar fridge and a microwave available to use. The bathroom was literally the most compact I have ever seen. The place is sadly in need of a renovation, but with Covid I am sure that they are suffering a lack of guests due to reduced travel in both commercial and recreational travellers, thus there would be lack of funds to do so at present. I found the manager very friendly and helpful and willing to chat. There is a gemstone display which is held in two large glass cabinets, in the reception area, which I am sure most people would find well worth a look. The cups provided for guests in the rooms were made of rather thin paper so not suitable for hot drinks. There was a free breakfast of a selection of rolls, yoghurt, stone fruit pieces, etc provided included in our tariff, which one could eat at the table and chairs in the office, or back in the room.
