Good stayvery good place to stay for good value for people who are not bias to rough areas of Newport(but when in your hotel room it didn't matter) Just behind hotel building you can go for a lovely walk along the river towards amazing iron bridge

Great staff and great location for the price. My daughter and I stayed for a week to visit with family. There are two great things about this hotel, the staff are amazing. And the location. The rooms not so much. Luckily the price made putting up with the room bearable. The road noise is awful. Also the extreme heat inside the room meant we had to have the window open which made it very hard to sleep due to the road noise. Totally out of the control of the staff and there had been a large fan placed inside the room which helped a little. Also we had a very small room with the bed up against the wall and the head board not flush with the wall behind meant it had broken and wasn't very easy to lean against and when the only other choice for a seat is the small single desk chair its not great. Ensuite bathroom is nice, but I'm not a fan of the wet room concept as it leaves hair and a very wet floor for quite some time. The kitchen again is a great idea and although the crockery was clean the rest of the kitchen wasn't really a place where I would wish to do any cooking. My daughter and I did eat breakfast in here and there is a TV but neither of the two remotes worked so we couldn't use it. Having the use of the two large fridges for those that want to cook is a useful addition. There is no house keeping here until the rooms are changed over so had we had much more trash we would have had to take it down to the communal bins in the court yard ourselves. Again for the cost this isn't really an issue but some travelers may find it unacceptable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location so close to Asda, Lidl and Friars walk and all its shopping and restaurants is wonderful. There is no parking within the complex but there is a private car park just adjacent and you can email the company prior to visiting to pay for a parking pass which I did, to save having to put money in the parking machine on a daily basis. This place is primarily student accommodation and although most had left for the summer there were still some around while working, never an issue and those that we did come across were friendly enough. We would definitely choose to stay here again as you do get value for money and a decent place to stay.

Never againAll the hotels I have stayed in have carparks. I was told to park on a rough carpark at the side of the hotel. I arrived at 4pm and had to pay £4.50 and was told before 8.30am I would have to pay again or face a fine when the traffic warden comes. You can stay in the room till 11am so you have to come down and feed the meter again if you want to use the room for the full time you paid for. I was booked in for two nights, but I was so angry having to leave my car un attended on a rubbish carpark. I was gone by 6am the following morning having decided to loose the money for the second night. They should explain the extra parking charge. I am now in a good hotel with a carpark.

Good value for moneyStayed here for 2 nights over bank holiday weekend with a group of friends whilst attending an event nearby. The lady who checked us in was friendly and we were checked in quickly. The accommodation is basic with just a desk bed and wardrobe in the room, but it was clean. The room also has a wet room bathroom which again was fine but I found it got pretty wet quite quickly and took a while to dry out. The rooms were very hot although the weather was nice that weekend so cant comment as to whether they are always like that, and the window only opens a tiny bit. There was a fan in the room but it didnt do much to cool it down. There is no tv in the room but there is a shared area, shared with 5 other rooms with seating and a tv if you need. The rooms also have access to a kitchen and fridge shared with 5 other rooms. I didnt use the cooking facilities but it was handy to be able to use the fridge to keep some cold drinks handy. There is no parking at the accommodation and the car park next to it is pay and display which runs out at 6:30 am, and if you arent there then to renew the parking attendant is there to issue tickets. The lady who checked us in did give us the details of a couple of local 24hr car parks you can use to get around this issue. We ended up parking in the bingo hall down the road which was free but was locked overnight until 10 or 11am depending on day, but if you dont need your car before then its an option to save money on parking. The rate for these rooms is fantastic, so although very basic I would stay again. Much cheaper than a hotel, especially if youre not planning on staying in the room. Its also in easy walking distance of the centre of Newport where there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
