NO STARS - FOUND A CONDOM UNDER THE BED! Apartment 81

I stayed at Newcastle Central Plaza with my family over the Easter/ANZAC break 2019. My first opinion of the apartment was it's quite dirty. Cockroaches inside, cigarette butts left in the balcony plant pot (despite Welcome Letter clearly stating smoking in room/balcony is illegal?!), used dental floss left in master bathroom shower and grimy bathroom vanity. My Mother asked the building manager (Roy) to change the light bulbs in the kitchen on our first day, as they did not work when we arrived which he did. However, on the last day of our stay I was stretching my back on the master bedroom floor when I saw a condom (unsure if used) under the master bed. I was shocked and upset! I emailed the address on the Welcome Letter straight away with my absolute disgust. My Mother then called the building manager (Roy) to complain and his response was "Can't you just pick it up?". He was not interested and had no intention of assisting. Granted, this occurred on ANZAC Day and the building was unmanned - but after paying almost two thousand dollars for accommodation I would expect a high touch service. I spent my last night on holiday sleeping in a bed knowing there was a condom underneath it. I have stayed in many self serviced apartments, and have NEVER experienced something as disgusting as finding a condom under the bed I've been sleeping in. I have still NOT heard back from the email I sent after finding the condom (I would have expected an APOLOGY or refund at the VERY LEAST!!!!).

Does anyone have a vac or paint brush

This place would have to go down as one of the worst places ive had the displeasure in staying...the carpet was torn and lifting the fridge was mouldy and still have stuff in it from the last people..the veranda and glass were soooo dirty with grime and crap we couldnt use it..aircon ducts were full of fluff and dirt showers were mouldy and rusty..the lounge chair had hairs and food scraps on and under the cushions..my bedside table had used tissues and a half of a packet of lollies left from the previous tennant..there was no phone in the room..no info about newcastle places to see ect..cups were cracked and chipped....Oh be aware if you want to use the carpark you better have a small or otherwise you WONT fit in...but the WORST THING of all was when the manager asked if everything was ok on the final inspection..i mentioned the lack of cleanliness and paint off the wall ect...he looked in my face and LAUGHED..do yourself a favour and NEVER EVEN CONSIDER THIS HOLE

    A great place to stay

Six of us stayed in a three bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious, clean and properly equipped. What more can be said? It was exactly what we wanted. We paid just over $500 for the night which was certainly better and more spacious than three hotel rooms. It is anlittle bit out of the city centre but is on the tram line, so it is easy to get about. Throughly recommended.

WORST HOTEL EVER - BROKEN TOILET, LIGHTS DID NOT WORK & PUBES ON THE FLOOR!

I booked a room at the prestigious Newcastle Plaza Hotel based upon the photos and information listed on the website. We booked with the understanding that it was a 4 1/2 star hotel and so expected that level of standard, however, what we walked into was extremely unsatisfactory. I paid $220 for a place that we did not feel comfortable to be in and it honestly felt like a seedy party house that a bunch of teenagers would hire out for a drunken weekend. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment however we were put in a massive 3 bedroom apartment - On entering we walked into a pitch black room and soon discovered that many of the lights did not work. There were bits of food and 2 minute noodles on the floor handprints on the cupboard and windows The absolutely filthy couch was disgusting - looked like an op shop couch - we felt uncomfortable & dirty sitting on it Many lights that were not working Pubic and other hairs on the bathroom floor and other hairs all around on the floor Dust and dirt on the windowsills, curtains & surfaces The dishwasher was full of anothers guests dishes The main bathroom was out of order, with the door unlocked leaving us to discover a huge mess in there The television and lamp were unplugged and when plugged in the lamp did not work. Some of the kitchen cupboards were coming off the hinges The PowerPoint was loose and could be dangerous The general upkeep of the room was atrocious, nothing like what was advertised - It was as if no one had been in the clean the room in months There was insufficient information in the room about wifi etc We wanted to talk to someone about it in the morning. At 8:10am there was still no one manning the reception. Their website is very misleading and false advertising!

    Dont stay here

As a world wide traveller this was my worst accom experience ever. I booked a 3 bedroom apartment via Booking.com Check in was from 2pm, on arrival the desk was locked and unattended. The mobile number did not connect. The 1300 number posted in the front door answered but advised they were no longer associated with this Hotel. Finally at 2.40 a man appeared who checked us in. We were sent to a 2 bedroom apartment and when I rang reception they insisted by talking over me rudely and loudly that I had booked a 2 bedroom. They advised there were absolutely no 3 bedrooms available. I called Booking.com to intervene and was then relocated to a run down apartment, the pictures speaks for themselves. Torn couch, chair and carper. Discusting! Another call to Booking and we were given a refund and left. I have never encountered such rude unprofessional staff. We went to the Quest which was lovely!
