A Boutique Feel...I loved this little hotel, perched up on one of Kampala's scenic hillsides! It took a bit to find it and I am glad we were driving a 4WD Rav, but was well worth time and effort! The complex is made up of a few small buildings on several levels up the side of the hill-excellent for privacy and the gardens were well kept and lovely to sit for a bit. The room came with a balcony and comfy seating and was very clean and comfortable. The meals were made to order from a small list of choices for the day, so were fresh, and I found them simply but well prepared. The staff were helpful with directions and even gave us a small tourist type map, that we used very frequently when attempting to navigate in Kampala.

General: an average hotelWe slept her for one night. Easy to find because there are enough signs to the hotel. The car is parked on a secured place with a guard. The room has a double bed with mosquito net. A small tv, fridge en fan on this room. A big bathroom with bad/shower etc. The room was clean. The mattress was not my favorite. The breakfast was simple. This hotel is located in one of the quiets places of Kampala.

Quaint, clean, and a beautiful viewAn excellent setting for conferences, team visits, or just quiet and peace. I was with five men for an overnight church leadership conference. The lady owner was super nice and very accomodating. Rooms were clean, staff was very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was wonderful. Rooms with a balcony are especially nice with a beautiful view of Lake Victoria and Kampala. The price was comparable to other hotels in the area, but a good one for all the extras and kindness of the staff. In all, a very positive experience.

Stunning views, quiet location and peaceful gardensA hidden gem in the quiet suburbs of Kampala with wonderful lake views, set in lovely gardens. This is a great spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Town, run by Swiss-German ex-pat Bernadette who is kind, welcoming and very helpful. As well as the included breakfast she can provide others meals on reauest and cold beers are always available. Very highly recommended.

The Rude Owner Of This Overpriced HotelI stayed here for a few nights and was 'greeted' by a very rude lady who turned out to be the Swiss owner of this property which she runs with her Ugandan husband. The couple could not be any different. He was extremely polite and caring and clearly understood how to treat paying guests, who are indeed paying a lot of money for quite frankly, an average to below average hotel. On my arrival the Swiss lady abruptly told me I could not have the room I had booked and then proceeded to give me a room where there was no hot water and non existent water pressure. Therefore, every morning I took a lukewarm drip shower which was hardly invigorating. Furthermore, there was substantial construction work going on near my room and I felt very angry that I was paying a lot of money for this mess. The staff were pleasant but quite slow in their service; breakfast was poor as was the old fashioned box television in my room. However, the view of lake Victoria from the balcony was nice. The hotel is quite some distance from downtown Kampala and it will take you about 15 minutes to get there once you've managed to get a taxi / boda boda (motorcycle taxi). I would return to this hotel on two conditions: 1. a significant decrease in the nightly rate because it's simply way way overpriced. 2. a change of ownership because having to deal with the horrendous Swiss owner is just not worth the time or effort.
