The WORST HOTEL EVER IN JAPANShame to this beautiful country! They are Shame of Japan We have traveled many times in Japan and stayed in many different hotels before, however, this one is the worst! The reception is not polite, not helpful! We have many languages, but they refused to offer any help to us! The osen is old , but view is good! Food was bad, just for the tourists! Everything from the machine. Our room is too hot, but found that the air conditioning was not working, so I call the front desk to help, but the front desk Mr Sato replied me that the main air conditioner was off , outside was cold and asked us to sleep. They can not help! Until I said I will complain , then they started to work on the air conditioner, but they dont want to solve your problems, even dont say sorry about this ! We stayed 2 nights here , just wanted to leave ASAP! Mr Furokawa was the worst, he said he is the one in charge, but he didnt want to solve the problems, even no apologize!

Solo with a Tour GroupGreat place to stay to get a wonderful view of the lake. Make sure you request for the traditional Japanese bedroom style as this is quite an experience to sleep on a futton on a tatami mat with. Bedroom: huge, with separate partition for sleeping area. Thoughtful amenities in room: slippers for toilet, slippers for bedroom, 2kinds of yukata (Japanese robe for sleeping), tea set, sitting area, huge closets for clothes and extra mattresses and blankets. ONSEN on the 9th floor, great view and ambience as it is open air! Don't worry as they supply tops and bottoms for decency as it is too cold to be walking n daunting and more cozy. Souvenir shop is huge, with Royce chocolates, scarves, and various other treats. I bought wooden palm massagers. Early morning, you'll be awakened by the crows else your alarm goes off earlier so you can queue early for the breakfast buffet. People wake up early here so be ready to bring a companion so you can save seats! I travelled alone so good thing I made friends with most of my tour mates. View is fantastic!

Great Outdoor PoolFirstly, our room was old. You can hardly use the WC with the door closed, and the flushing sound was so loud. But then the facility was pretty nice. There was a outdoor pool on the roof. When it was dark, there was nice lightings and we could see stars. Dinner and breakfast buffets were great. During dinner, you could opt for free flow drinks. There is a Bokke trail beside the hotel. We had an early walk around the trail before we had breakfast.

A great night stay, service can be improvedWe stayed for a night and were impressed by the room. Most rooms have a great view of the lake and mountain. I also like the traditional Japanese decor of the room. There was a wide variety of food for buffet breakfast and dinner. We did not sleep well on the tatami as it was too hard. We also felt that the staff members were not as friendly as those we have met at other hotels in Hokkaido. As such, I am unable to give a 5 star review.

Hotel with good service and very good spread of foodWe were told that this hotel has one of the best dinner buffet spread around, and so we tried and did not regret staying there. though the hotel seems a bit dated, and it was very crowded (waited for 5 lifts to get up to our room during checkin), but it was still bearable. Not only the spread of the buffet dinner was good, the buffet breakfast was equally good. The hotel is well visited by locals and overseas tourists. Other than the splendid food spread, there is also a pretty big gift shop at the lobby area. This hotel is well liked by the young and old. Worth staying here for at least one night.
