  Good service, large room, good food. Hot bath was also good, but small. Outdoor bath very small. Dinner and breakfast served in your room. Typical ryokan experience. Cold water in the fridge has charcoal in it. Hot pot in the room for hot water. Driving, the roads are narrow and confusing with the GPS getting a little lost. Drive past the entrance of the ryokan all the way to the T-junction where you will find the sign pointing right to the carpark. The carpark is almost next to the property and is quite easily accessible on foot. A very enjoyable hotel in a town that is very walkable.

  Amazingly perfect ryokan experience

  Out of the many ryokans we stayed at during our two week trip to Japan, this was hands down the best. The service was great - very friendly, accommodating and nice. Our room was beyond comfortable and quiet. I can't decide what was better: the onsen or the meals. First off, the onsen. It was small, but extremely clean and nice with lots of wood fixtures. The outdoor bath was beautiful - lots of rock and plant features, though the water was unfortunately a little hot for me. Dinner was beyond exceptional. The presentation was so creative, every bite was delicious and we enjoyed every course. I would stay here over and over again if I could.

  Absolutely wonderful

  We loved this wonderful ryokan in Shuzenji. And we loved the absolutely amazing staff, they were so nice. The little village Shuzenji is also cosy, but we stayed most of the time at the ryokan. Nice onset (hot baths) and very nice food, served with finesse. Kindness and warmth, we would love to come back. The only thing that was not top was the breakfast, that was almost the same as the dinner, and little too much. But you should come here, not disappointed!

  Large room, great onsen, very friendly staff, and a delicious and hearty Japanese breakfast all contributed to a wonderful experience; if we ever visit Shuzenji Onsen again, we will definitely stay at Taizanso again.

  Good stay

  Much caring service with a gentle reminder was received 1 day prior to my booked date, and an English speaking staff was there to give brief introduction on this ryokan and nearby attraction, very helpful. The dinner was excellent in taste,quality and with good service too. The onsen is not too big but peaceful and relaxing while the room is spacious with a balcony.
