  Horrible disappointment

  This was my most disappointing hotel experience in a long time. This is not a 4-star hotel that it claims to be, but maybe a 2-and-a-half star one. The good thing is the location - right by the beach - but the same can be said for thousands of hotels nearby so don't book a room here just because of that. The hotel is old and it shows, it needs renovation badly. My room was small, ugly and dirty, painted in some sort of sad grey colour. I was afraid to touch the furniture because it was so yucky. Bathroom was tiny and completely impractical. For example, the shower cabin did not close so after taking the shower the entire bathroom floor was wet. There were also no toiletries. The reception staff did not speak a word of English. There is no parking by the hotel. After one horrible night I just left this hotel and moved to another one nearby, and I'm very happy I did that. I since stayed in several other hotels in the area and they were all much, much better than Negresco for the same price.

  Very happy with the hotel and all the facilities. Great value. Extremely helpful Reception Desk. Aiming to go back in 2017. Will recommend the hotel to any friends or colleagues, whether single or couples/families.

  Misano Motogp

  Considering the rate you pay, this is not too bad. However this is not a 4 star hotel. Room is very, very basic and old Our room had joining doors with the room next door and the people were noisy. Bathroom was full of dust. Shower is in the bath. I am disappointed that I forgot to take a photo of the bathroom and room. We had a balcony which had a partial view of the beach, which was nice. Staff was extremely friendly, breakfast is like an high tea and of good quality. The hotel is situated almost on the beach and 2 roads away and walking distance to all restaurants and shops. It is about 5km walk from the Misano circuit. If not for the good breakfast, friendly staff and view of the beach, I would rate it 2 stars.

  Outstanding lunch at Le 37 Pop "pop up" restaurant

  The 5-star hotel Le Negresco is perhaps the best known landmark on Nice's legendary Promenade des Anglais, the road and walk-way cradling the turquoise waters of the Baie des Anges. What may be less known is that during the Hotel's renovation, a remarkable "pop up" restaurant has been set up off the lobby rotunda. Overseen by executive chef Virginie Basselot, Le 37 Pop is simply great! Try the menu nicoise, authentic dishes in the Nice style. The beef daube with homemade parmesan tagliatelle and panisse "frites" were the best we ever had in years of living in Nice. The special was truly unique, cod with fennel, wrapped in thick parma ham with a sun dried tomato in the center. Wow! No less than four people served us during the meal and everyone was friendly, funny and professional. Because of an ongoing event in the lobby, just for today the Le 37 Pop was moved to the ornate "Versailles" room which added immensely to a special experience. We're not sure how long Le 37 Pop will be around (eventually the renovations will be finished) so check it out while you can!

  4 day stay

  The rooms felt very unclean, the drainpipes smelled horribly from time to time. The breakfast contained basically only desserts. The waterpressure in the shower was very weak and the parking was pretty far from the hotel. But, location was great, close to the beach.
