Always a delight! We had visited Navarone some years ago. This summer we needed to relax after a stressful year and could not think of a better place; coffee by the pool in the morning, cocktail by the pool in the evening and nothing else matters!

Nice hotel - just missing a few points! You would never find the Hotel Navarone without the excellent and reassuring signposting from the main road which leads around the Navarone bay towards Voidokilia. But when you arrive you see a hotel on a hill with several blocks of apartments with rooms upstairs and downstairs. It is set in nice grounds with a large open-air swimming pool and is a great place to relax. The beach (and two beach side tavernas) are just 5-minute walk away and frankly you could spend all day there on the free sun loungers provided by the tavernas! But you came here to see Voidokilia beach it is 1.5 km away and 5 minutes by car and you will not be disappointed. It is a crescent of gorgeous sand with warm calm water in an almost enclosed bay. I spent the whole day sunbathing and swimming and it was gorgeous. However out of season there are no facilities on the beach or near to it. So stock up on drinks and picnics before you come. In season there are two small outlets but they were closed in October. My bedroom was large with a large double bed, a desk for working, a fridge, a good sized wardrobe and a small bathroom with shower (only). No bath. There was a nice balcony with two chairs and a table. Staff were friendly and welcoming and spoke excellent English! They even brought me a free piece of cake to apologise for the hotels lack of internet caused by a thunderstorm burning out their router! So how could Hotel Navarone be better? No problems with price. I paid £56/night for bed and breakfast and stayed two nights. However: The rooms do not have any wi-fi access. You have to go to the reception area for that. No hair driers in the room - they are planned for 2019 apparently. No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms These additions would make a lovely hotel even better.

Lovely setting ... short stay ... but...We stayed here for 3 nights as my husband was competing the Ironman race based at the nearly Westin Resort. The apartments at which belong to the hotel are in the middle of nowhere with not much around which is beautiful - lovely gardens - its own pool - very cold and a short walk down to the beach- when you find them - but no facilities nearby - no where to get cash out and hotel vaguely suggested Pylos to do this , one bar next door ( we did t go so cant comment) but no shops for food to self cater - nearest supermarket we found was a 15 min drive up coast but was pretty good - asked at the hotel and they said they didnt do any food at all. Not even breakfast. The apartments are just a few minutes down the hill from the main hotel ... thats the only place for WiFi not in the apartments ( as we were led to believe - having 2 teenagers that was important but not the end of the world) The apartments is small and there were 4 of us - so our daughters had to sleep in a sofa bed and trundle bed ( on the floor) which werent made up and we did on arrival when we finally found the blankets ( although no enough sheets so had to go get more). The cooking facilities were very basic but just about okay - limited plates etc so constant washing up. Normal sized fridge which was good. Be warned - there was never any hot water - showers were always freezing Which was not particularly enjoyable and the whole apartment was cold - especially at night - and felt damp all the time - damp sheets do not make for a good nights sleep! Marble floors everywhere probably contributed. We also. Struggled with ants that invaded regularly running little motorways across the whole apartment. Safe was provided but didnt work. The balcony was lovely but had a rolled down sun canopy on it that was impossible to roll up which was a shame as it was always in the shade and was the only place sit outside and enjoy the views. The day of the Ironman race the only small road in and out of the apartments was closed - we were given no warning of this when we arrived- which would have been helpful to plan - which didnt bother us ( but may have frustrated other guests) as we got the see the runners however meant you couldnt leave the apartments by car and meant we could t get to see the finish of the race at the nearby resort which we normally do when my husband races - which was a shame - he could t also get back until they reopened the road. Good location to travel up the coast to Ancient Olympia which we did - was about 1 hour 48 mins and well worth a visit. We also briefly went 5 mins down the road to Voidoklia Beach in the thunder and lightening - which was quite dramatic. Nice welcome touch of a bottle of wine and water in fridge and fresh flowers on the table - thank you.

Lovely hotelVisited the place for two nights. Lovely hotel (actually there are seven or eight blocks of rooms built on a small hill, 5 minutes away from the beach and two tavernas). Liked it a lot; for what it is worth I missed WiFi in the room (available only in the main building where restaurant is). Also the breakfast was a bit poor

The number of returning clients shows how good this hotel is.We have stayed at the Navarone ten times since 2004. Why do so many clients return year after year? The area is lovely and quiet, the Konstantelos family are friendly and welcoming, the beach is perfect and never too crowded in June/earlyJuly, there are three tavernas and a supermarket within walking distance and a bigger selection of places to eat a short drive away in Gialova. Wi-fi is available at reception and near the bar but could be improved as this seems to be an essentail for most people nowadays.
