    Nice apartments, poor service

First of all it has nothing to do with a hotel; it is an apartment village with very basic services; if you come in winter then reception is open only 6 hours a day, you need to pay for using the sauna (20EUR/hour) and for WiFi access as well (2EUR/hour) which doesn't work in some rooms. On the other hand the 'village' looks good and it's quite close to Gerlitzen (15 minutes by car); We liked the apartments; they are roomy and are built in 'authentic' Carinthian style. The catering was below anything i experienced since i finished my studies. I don't want to over-complicate it; i just simply don't recommend eating in the restaurant. If you can get a great last minute price (without catering) then this might be a good choice - if you prefer half-pension and your other option is a real hotel or a gasthof/inn with minimum price difference then chose that.

Great location to explore the area.

We are a family of five (children aged 4, 7 and 9) and stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The hotel was lovely with a nice looking restaurant a great pool area (both indoor and outdoor) and free Wifi . There was a lovely walking path through the countryside which led to a playground and large hammock which the children loved to swing in. There was not very much close by but there was a walking track down to the lake (30 minutes). It was a great place to stay and explore the local area. We recommend the bird show at Landksron Castle and a boat ride on Lake Velden... both were fantastic.

naturel hoteldorf schönleitn faaker am see

This hotel has 2 locations near each other. One is larger and on the lake and the other one is smaller further away. We stayed at the one not on the lake address; naturel hoteldorf schönleitn faaker am see. Over all, we really enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff and waiters were very nice and polite. The food is good sometimes excellent. We stayed over the Christmas and New Year period. The hotel got very busy from the 26th of December. It was at this point that our stay become not so god as the hotel was totally full. Kids were running around outside in the square and in the buffet restaurant. The pool was busy all the time and the pool lights did not work even after I reported it twice to the reception staff. The pool floor was covered in water all the time. Our shower did not work well but was fixed in minutes after we reported the problem. The accommodation is clean, well equipped and very good. The hotel lit open fires in the hotel square, which made a great Christmas atmosphere and the food on Christmas eve and on NYE was very good. The hotel made make big efforts to entertain all the guests. I will say that I don't think the hotel at this site is big enough to cope will full capacity as the buffet restaurant area is too small and gets too busy at peak eating times. The hotel also needs an indoor relaxing area with sofas and a kids play area so that guests can relax and socialise during winter and summer months. The hotel as no large common area to relax other than one very small bar area. We had an all inclusive package and this included beer, (an average/poor) table wine and juices. You could not take your free drinks after 9.00 PM which meant you had to drink them only when you ate or outside in the hotel square (Dorf Platz). None of the hotel waiting/bar staff seem to know the all inclusive rules and it was annoying to be restricted to these evening times and the fact the drinks did not include coke or lemonade was a disappointment. The hotel also has a very BAD wifi connection. It worked badly or not all all. They offer you a wifi booster but its a key, we did not know how to use it and it wont fit an iPad. I would say the hotel is used by 95% German visitors. The rest is used by Austrian, Slovenian, Italian with perhaps 1% British. Information is mostly in German but they will gladly translate if asked. We enjoyed our stay so much we will go back as it has a professional kids club. The kids club is run by some very nice ladies who's speak English and the kids get good fun daily activities. I can really say we were very happy with how our kids were looked after and the kids club is great. We loved the hotel so much we will go back and recommend it for the kids club, nature, peace, accommodation and great cooking. I would not recommend going at peak season to the non lake location as its small or if you are not a German speaker. I will conclude it is an excellent place to stay if you have kids and is run by nice friendly people and if you like good food you will be very happy to stay there.

    Naturally fantastic place

Beautiful location at Lake Faaker and a very pretty village with an Austrian traditional atmosphere. The weather did not allow us to do water sports and bathing in the lake, but in the summer it must be even better, so we hope to come back someday. I also appreciated the fact that my request for an accommodation in apartment with the lake view has been met. So, I do recommend this place for a family holiday or weekend with friends.

Beautiful hotel village at great location.

Lovely park, delicious food, beautiful area and lake. Children are happy and entertained. We have had great holidays! This hotel village has the advantages of a camping and the luxury of the nice appartements. Beautiful gardens and good facilities: playground, sport fields, beach area and kidsclub. Very friendly and competent staff.
