An honest reviewI really wanted to stay in this hotel because of the historical value but even as a 2 star hotel kind of girl, the reviews made me nervous. Upon my own visit I see a few of the bad reviews are unfounded if not even ridiculous. So first of all let me say, this is not a 4 star luxury hotel. So if that's what you are looking for, you need to cough up more than $100/night. However, and maybe it's because where I'm from, even a decent 2 star hotel is at least $100, I think it's a fair price to pay for this hotel. I did call ahead of time to see if any part of the hotel has been renovated. There is a main hotel and then "veranda" rooms just off the main hotel. Staff explained main hotel has been going under renovations but that veranda rooms are more "historical", I'm guessing that came with a wink, wink, lol. The veranda rooms have a better view though from my understanding. This hotel was built in 1964. Has it been gutted and totally renovated? No. Is there cracks in the walls and chipping paint here and there? Yes. But so does my house that was built in the same year and I have yet to gut that either. The hotel has a very colonial/shabby chic/farmhouse vibe. I find it absolutely beautiful. My room has a very old thermostat, one I've never seen before, and I am 45 years old. It took me about 3 seconds to figure it out. However the blower is kind of loud, but I was able to tune it out fairly quickly. There is an elevator in the main hotel. Old, but I hope they never change it unless it's for safety reasons. I think it adds to the vintage feel of the place. I read a review about "one tiny elevator" I'm not sure how big elevators are where this lady comes from, but it's actually quite large and is approximately 18 square feet. Bigger than most hotel bathrooms. I personally love the room I was in, but would suggest having maintenance come around periodically to tighten the bed frames up, this might also help with the scuff marks behind the beds. Was the room completely dust free? No. But I can deal with some dust on a lamp. I'm always more concerned with the cleanliness of the bathroom and where I need to put my bare feet like the shower. The bathroom was immaculate. So ya, not concerned about dust on lamp shade. The front desk clerks were both very nice. I do agree with a previous poster that upon check in, I was not offered any information on the hotel ( I was directed to the elevator and my room though). I had to ask about places to eat (even their own restaurant) and if they had any info on the natural bridge. I was advised they are two separate things, but still, considering that is the reason most people are staying in your hotel, management should be working with the visitor center on offering information. There could be a lot of cross marketing with them and other close-by things to do. Now the only real complaint I have is to not waste your money in the restaurant. I tried dinner. Not horrible, but bland, unattractive, no bread or salad provided...thought I'd try again for breakfast. Big mistake...I'm sorry, but this was just absolutely disgusting. There are a couple small diners close by that I see have rave reviews. All in all, if I was ever to want to see the Natural Bridge again, I would definitely stay here, and I will recommend it to there people.

Quick StayJust an overnight stay while traveling. A few minute drive from I81, but mountain view was amazing to wake up to. Walked the trails in Natural Bridge Park just up the road a bit. Nice park with various trail options and wide enough for social distancing. Staff at hotel were wearing face coverings and were helpful.

Great conference location! We stayed at this beautiful historic hotel for a womens retreat of 75 women. It was so fun to finally get away since Covid and the hotel staff took such good care of us. The conference room was beautiful and they kept the coffee, tea and water full. The meals were fabulous in the restaurant and the dinner that was catered to our group was on point. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed in our room. There was also a lounge on the 3rd floor where we could talk and play games. Overall, it was a fabulous weekend and I could not recommend this hotel more for either an overnight stay or a conference. Thank you!

RGWe had a women's retreat at the hotel. Clean rooms, hot shower, good food. Staff at hotel were kind and very helpful. They kept a steady supply of coffee, tea, and water available and met each and every request promptly and with a smile. Due to inclement weather, the park was closed to visitors, however, they offered us shuttled tours to the caverns in exchange. It did take me a few minutes to learn how to adjust the thermostat and turn on the heat.

Stay somewhere farther from the BridgeYour hotel should probably be aware of the Natural Bridge State Park closures BEFORE your guests are, and then not be so rudely reluctant to check (regardless of your lack of affiliation; literally all of your guests come to see the Natural Bridge)... Maybe be a little more polite and not drag feet getting hungry guests seated for breakfast, rather than "You're just gonna have ta wait". Also, the room was super gross, had a foul smell, dead flies in the window, a nasty big toenail clipping by the headboard and did not look AT ALL like the photos on your website. It was dingy, the "view" boasted about on your website was non-existent, and was overall comparable to a sleezy Motel 6 in the ghetto... DO BETTER!!! Update your rooms, establish better housekeeping standards (especially with Covid 19), improve professional communication skills of your front desk, have adequate staff to manage breakfast crowd, and, for the love of God, develop a relationship with the Natural Bridge State park so your guest don't drive 250 miles to see the inside of a dirty, smelly, outdated hotel room.
