  Charming hotel

  This - recently renovated hotel - is situated at the end of a dead-end valley road where many mountain hikes can be started from. It has been decorated with attention for tasteful details and emphasis for modern standards. Food: The breakfast features a choice of healthy and fresh items (juices and cereals) but also local delicacies (Tirol's bacon) for the hungry people. A 4 course dinner menu can be eaten at the hotel also, which is equally delicious and healthy. The price was more than affordable, excellent price quality ratio! Hotel surroundings: The fact that the hotel is next to the road is not a problem since the valley ends just a few meters behind the hotel and traffic in summer is limited to cars traveling towards the glacier cable car a few hundred meters behind the hotel. The hotel has a small relaxation lake and a mountain river behind, which carries more or less water according to the rain in the mountains. When it carries lots of water you can enjoy the powerful noise - we liked it! Hotel entertainment: The hotel has a small Spa area, with a sauna. We did not use this but in winter time it can be nice to get warmed up. The hotel owner arranges every now and then camp fire evenings with a welcome drink (local schnapps), or snow shoe hikes in winter (as we heard). The best however was the very kind 'Ober' (servant), with an interest to talk to guests, great stories, sense of humor and able to give you a warm and welcome feeling!

  Great stay

  Last minute booking - so glad I stayed here! The owner is excellent and the hotel is a very welcoming place. Rooms are superb and the four course meal was delicious. On the evening the owner lit a wonderful fire pit and handed out schnapps while guests mingled. The hotel is located at the end of the stunning Pitztal. Great for a hiking stop over or a longer stay to explore the region.

  Great location

  This place is located at the end of the valley and has great views of the mountains. It is close to several excellent trails - no need to use a car. The breakfast is very good and is available early. They also have a big selection of warm rolls and provide bags so you can make a sandwich for hiking. The rooms are quite adequate. It is very quiet and has sounds of the stream and the cow bells.

  Very good position for hiking activities

  he hotel is located along the road, which is not visible in the hotel's pictures. The hotel is pleasant, quiet and in a good position for hiking activities. The rooms are spacious and clean. We stayed three nights. We had a half board. The breakfast is a good and varied choice of cold and hot meals along with a rich selection of juices, pekmez, fruit, cereals. Dinner menu, dishes are varied, delicious and well served. The portions are a bit too small, they should be 1/3 bigger, at least the main dish. The staff is kind and willing to help.

  Ideal for week of walking in Tirol, Pitztal

  We stayed here for one week, the offer that you can book on the hotel website, which includes half board plus. Plus is meaning that at breakfast you can make your own lunch package and take it with you. The offer includes the use of the new Pitztal card, which amongst others allows the use of mountain lifts in the Pitztal and closeby Kaunertal. As we walked a lot on higher elevations this is of great value. E.g. for the two of us together we saved more than 200 Euros on lift cost. We stayed in room 11, which had comfortable beds, a balcony, and a small table with seats, comfortable for our stay, and clean. It was clear that quite a lot of attention was paid to the dinner, every evening different, mostly typical Austrian cuisine. A typical dinner would start with a salad bar, then a soup, a starter, the main course and a mostly sweet desert. Servings between courses were quite quick, but unlike some other review posted here, we thought this to be excellent. Portions were not big, but exactly the right size for us. When we stayed there , the 2nd week of July, not many people stayed in this hotel, perhaps about 6 couples. It made the stay very quiet. Also, as it is on the end of the dead end valley road, there is hardly any traffic. Highly recommended for a week of relaxed walking in the Austrian Alps.
