  Excellent services, hospitability and professionality

  I stayed at the Nascent Gardenia for a week hosting an event with 25 international staff. The hotel staff were wonderful professionals, made every effort to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Facilities were of top quality without being luxurious. Food was excellent and location quiet and centric. Would recommend it without a doubt. Thank you everyone!

  Money stolen from hotel room

  I stayed here for 4 days until an unfortunate incident occurred where my coworker and I discovered money had been stolen from our rooms. We believe it happened on the first night, since we arrived around 1 am in the morning after a long, exhausting flight from the US to Bangladesh. We were so tired we fell asleep without locking up our valuables. Several days later we noticed we were missing money when we calculated our expenses and counted how much money we had left. $60 had been taken from my wallet, while my colleague was missing about $100. Whoever did it was smart because instead of taking all the money, he/she took about half so that we didn't immediately realize something was wrong. This was disappointing of course, but what angered us was the lack of action from the hotel management. While they sat down with us in the lobby to find out what happened, their tone was extremely condescending the entire time and it was clear they didn't believe us. They kept asking the same questions over and over again, such as why we didn't notice the money was missing sooner (as if this was somehow our fault). We knew the money could only have been stolen from the hotel, since during the day our bags/wallets were with us the entire time in the office. They said they would look into the matter, and apologized 'for what we think happened.' It was apparent they didn't have any interest in finding the culprit. Feeling unsafe since we believe the thief entered our rooms while we were sleeping, we switched hotels the same day we discovered the theft. I would not recommend staying here. Besides the lack of security and poor management, the hotel's location within the Baridhara diplomatic zone means it can take quite a long time to get anywhere that's located outside the diplomatic zone, due to Dhaka's horrible traffic. The Wi-fi is slow and cuts out often, and the rooms are old and basic, but clean. The bathroom has a shower/bathtub combo. The bed is like sleeping on a hard piece of wood. On the plus side, they have excellent chicken reshmi kebabs in the restaurant, affordable and decent in-room dining, and the majority of the hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet is acceptable, and they will pack some food for you to takeaway if you ask. I stayed here previously in 2016 and had no issues other than the poor internet and uncomfortable bed. But after the problems during my most recent stay and the poor response by hotel management, I would hesitate to stay here again.

  Great hotel

  I stayed for one night. The reception team and all staff are very friendly and effective. I was greeted with a watermelon cocktail. The room is great, with air conditioning, good bathroom, excellent shower, hot water, good toiletries. In the room was a complimentary fruit plate and a bottle of water. The breakfast is interesting. I used the shuttle from the airport to the hotel and it was great. What was bad was the price of the second bottle of water, 200 taka! I had paid 25 at the airport when arrived.

  Luxurious and pricey

  Right from the airport, one feels very welcome at this hotel. The person who receives you as you exit does everything to help. All the staff, including the driver speak good English and are happy to talk about their country. The reception desk is efficient and the restaurant service excellent. Breakfast is a real treat. The rooms are large, well decorated and quiet and one can even soak one's fatigue away in a nice bathtub. There's watermelon juice to welcome you and tea, coffee and a basket of fresh fruit in the room in addition to the snacks and drinks that one pays for. It's a safe place but the diplomatic area is rather dead - one doesn't feel like taking a walk between high-walled compounds without a pedestrian in sight. It's expensive too, but otherwise highly recommendable.

  Amazing service - will definitely be back here!

  Great welcome from staff. My family and i went to Bangladesh on a big family holiday, atleast 20 of us were all welcomed and treated very well. The room was clean and bathroom was spotless. Rooms were very spacious too. After a hectic day out within the hustle and bustle of Dhaka/Puran Dhaka, it was amazing to go back to our rooms and relax comfortably on the beds. The food was absolutely delicious full of flavour and spice. And the staff were very helpful.
