IF YOU DON'T LIKE SCREAMING BABIES AND TODDLERS THEN DON'T STAY HERE!

Great resort, staff so helpful and friendly, the room was fantastic. We paid extra for the on of the bungalows on the front with a sea view. It was spoilt somewhat by lots of families with very young babies and toddlers staying at this resort. There was no respite from the crying at breakfast or on the beach. The pool was also monopolized by them as well. You can hire scooters at the resort which we did and went all over the island. Klong Nin is the nearest built up are with plenty of eating places and bars. Also Kantiang Bay is nearby with more restaurants. We had excellent food wherever we ate.The National Park at the southern tip of the island is worth a visit with a beatiful beach and as you make your way back up north there some more beautiful beaches Bamboo Beach, Klong Jark and Nui Bay. I have rated the resort as average because of noise from babies and toddlers. Take them out of the equation and the resort is excellent. There was no balance. The majority of guests were young families. There only two or three older couples during the whole of our stay. The beach is not secure and during our stay we noticed people from the next resort using the sun beds. There was no one from the hotel keeping an eye on your belongings when you went for a swim in the sea!

Four relaxing days on Koh Lanta

We visited in off-season (June) and this was our first resort experience. We loved that there were few tourists but it was a little too quiet. I'm sure the experience is very different in high season. We found the staff to be lovely, the facilities are very nice but basic, and the restaurant was wonderful. We have kids so didn't ride motos around the island. If you don't have transport, you may feel trapped as there are no other shops or restaurants in walking distance. The beach is gorgeous, but rocky at high tide. I was nervous to have the kids battered around in the waves with big rocks. Oh. And dangerous jellyfish throughout the region in the off season. Not the resort's fault of course!

Fifth time back! Love it here

Having been away for 8 years, my husband and I quickly rediscovered how much we love this place and why: a bucolic and magical jungle setting, leaf-engraved, winding sidewalks that lead to our private, thatched-roof bungalow with a hammock on our balcony that overlooks the sea, and a ceiling fan ( negating the need for annoying air conditioning), awesome food, super- friendly and competent staff, an infinity pool, and a beach tiki bar that could win competitions. At night we laid awake and listened to the crashing waves on the rocky shore and jungle noises through our screened balcony sliding doors ( screens are great - Im surprised how many expensive hotels do not have screens to enjoy the outdoors and keep bugs out). In the morning we enjoyed our favorite Thai breakfast food, Khao Tum Gai, for happy hour we watched beautiful sunsets by the sea, sipped yummy cocktails, and then we savored every bite of our evening meal: whole fish with chili and basil. The Narima owners have made some renovations tooupgrading the interiors of the bungalow, refitting the baths, new thatched roofs, and additional security features. At my request, they also provided a mosquito net over the bed. It is the jungle, so come prepared with appropriate clothing and bug spray. Spray is also kindly available at the reception for use in the restaurant, a huge wooden pavilion open to the air. With many thanks to the gracious owners Dr Nopawan and Dr Yodchai, and the incredible staff, See you soon again!

Nice small resort with rivale beach

We booked 4 nights and after check in we were given a spacious villa with a very comfortable bed. The hotel has an infinity pool with very welcome shaded areas which also helps to keep it cool. They also have a small private beach with plenty of comfortable beds in the shade. Breakfast is plenty and good choices. Plenty of free potable water, bananas and cookies in the lobby. We rented a scooter with the resort. The team was very friendly and the manager was very flexible when we had some unusual request. Thank you and I can certainly recommend staying here, especially if you are seeking a quiet location to unwind and relax.

    Beautiful location

My boyfriend and I just returned from our trip to Thailand, which we ended with 4 days at Narima. Its a beautiful resort on a quiet bit of the coast. The beach is partly rocky, partly sandy - personally I prefer this to a big long boring stretch of sand which is what you get further up the coast. It doesnt stop you swimming and looks very pretty. We like to look for wildlife, and were pleased to see a variety of birds in the area including sandpipers, kingfishers, herons, bulbuls and sunbirds. Also around were the ever-present macaques, and plenty of frogs and geckos. Our room was nicer than expected, on the A row so directly overlooking the sea, and well away from everything. Big, clean, new with a nice hammock! We ate at the beach restaurant most nights and enjoyed the food - we found it cheaper, nicer and the setting more attractive than some more expensive restaurants around. The only slight downside for us were the number of families with young children, as mentioned in previous reviews. Generally everyone was lovely. Early evening at the beach restaurant was sometimes (not always) busy with big family groups who dominated the waiters time, and the pools and breakfast buffet were also very full on. Otherwise it was not a problem - the room and the beach were peaceful - but worth mentioning if this sort of thing bothers you.
