  Buen hotel en hirayu-onsen

  Buena relación calidad-precio. Instalaciones y habitaciones bastante antiguas, habitación muy grande. Los onsen son naturales y muy bonitos, hay 3 exteriores y 3 privados (se reservan en recepción). Muy bien situado para ir a kamikochi (la parada del bus está a dos minutos caminando). No cenamos ni desayunamos en el hotel. El personal es muy atento, aunque no hablan inglés. Lo mejor del hotel son los onsen que tienen!!

  Friendly staff and great location

  The place is located very close to the bus station and is very convenient. Its a great way to explore the kamikochi area. The staff don't speak much English but they are very friendly and polite.We stayed in a traditional room which was comfortable. However, the hotel is looking a bit tired and dated and needs to be upgraded. The place has a unique collection of stuffed animals in the hallway. The Onsen was a highlight.

  Good services, food, pricing and english friendly.

  The dinner is quite good and with alot of food. Friendly staffs and good english speaking front desk. Standard Room is consider old but clean, with own toilet and fridge. Overall pricing is good with onsen included and private toilet. Although we reserved non-smoking room but there is ash tray inside without smell inside the room. :-)

  Little gem needs polished but still sparkle

  We booked a room for two night in this hotel which includes breakfast. The staff was friendly and some of them speak english. We were then shown to our room 101 next to Onsen. The staff made us tea for welcoming, it was quite nice of her. The room was clean and the shower was sufficient and modern. Everythig was in perfect order. The onsen is great, not too hot like some other onsen. Its huge, clean and it has open air bath and sauna. The breakfast..omg..so good and heaps of them. Probably bit too much but hey you are on holiday. If you dont book dinner, there is a ramen place around the corner next to supermarket. Its a sleepy town so not many choice. Good place to stay for trip to shinhotaka ropeway/hiking. Visited October 2016.

  Old Ryokan, small rooms

  We stayed at Nakamurakan for 1 night with our kids on 3Jan. It is an very old style Japanese onsen Ryokan. Staff were friendly, they spoke very simple English. You can book private onsen when you check in (please tell the check in staff you want to book private onsen). The private onsen doesn't have shower area so I recommend you to take a shower before going into the private onsen room. Please bring your towel in the room to either the public or the private onsen. If you have booked the breakfast and dinner, please ask the check in staff what dinning room you should go to, otherwise you don't know where the table is. The room is small and old. But the view is fantastic. Basically it is a very average Ryokan, you pay what you get. It's the least pleasant Ryokan I have stayed by far. The Hida beef is not very good. The staff in the dining area can't speak English at all. So if you don't know Japanese at all it could be difficult (I can't only speak a little Japanese, so most of the time I didn't understand what the lady said) The Ryokan however, looks very nice. Unfortunately, I will try staying at other Ryokan surrounding Nakamurakan next time as others look very nice as well.
