  Booked again already

  Second visit and not our last already booked for next year. Amazing small friendly hotel on the edge of town but still within comfortable walking distance, beautiful beaches on the door step. Very clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Fantastic staff making our holiday just perfect. Thank you Annette and team see you next year.

  Good hotel but needs some improvements.

  Room was ok, manager/owner was friendly, location was great and there where some cute dogs around hotel's ground floor to welcome you. On the bad side, not a cheap hotel for the amenities it offers, you mainly paying the easy reach of Almyros beach and Ayios Nikolaos city, room was extra warm during check-in, breakfast was basic, the hams were sticky and if something in buffet had finished (ie cheese, mini-croissants) there wasn't any refill event if it was empty 1 hour before breakfast end time, so you end up either starving or eating something else not favorable in order to fill your morning appetite.

  A reasonable budget place to stay.

  Firstly, I wouldn't class the accommodation as a hotel but more like rooms with a small pool. The rooms have been recently refurbished and nicely decorated with modern bathrooms. However, we couldn't use the walk in rain shower because the whole bathroom gets flooded . We therefore had to use the hand held shower attachment with the minimum flow of water and at the same time mop to direct a drain behind the toilet. The bed was comfortable and we had good nights sleep, however the main ceiling lights didn't work when the switch was turned on. There is a busy road nearby but the double glazing kept the noise out We had a small balcony, we couldn't use it because the water from next doors air conditioning caused puddles on it . We complained to the man on reception but nothing was done about it. There was an extra daily charge of 5 euros to use the air conditioning and 9 euros to use a safety box at reception. The buffet breakfasts were of a poor qualitity with little choice but a cooked english style breakfast cost 7 euros extra or an omelette 6 euros per person. A buffet diner was available at 15 euros if booked in the morning. There are no places to eat within a short walking distance except for the Dikitmos restaurant on site where we ate on two nights. We ordered greek food which was very good, with large portions, good service and reasonably priced. Regarding the location, there is a long sandy beach with excellent swimming close by but it was very crowded with sun beds/umbrellas on virtually on all of the beach which cost 12 euros per set daily. There is a snack bar in the middle of the beach which rapidly prepares food and drinks for the crowds. In the late afternoon/early evening when tourists leave for their hotels, local families arrive to enjoy the uncrowded beach and its facilities. A big mention to Zoe on reception who was very friendly and helpful.

  Budget accommodation

  We stayed for eight days .bed comfortable.cold water in the shower first four days with water leaking out of the bathroom door from it not ideal.Breakfast very basic .we had evening meal included ! Not told what the evening meal would be just got it given ie cold lamb bones leftovers from lunch bbq.rabbit , risotto with unknown content ie fat bits .suggest request menu and do not eat included evening meal unless on very tight budget .wine very expensive too , Not overly friendly for a Greek experience. Would not return .

  avoid at all costs

  There are many things which were wrong, firstly the customer service here is shocking i wouldnt expect it in crete. annette who works there is a conwoman and doesnt care about the customers feelings at all. she even said to me she will destroy me if i leave a bad review lovely way to talk to your customers. The so called "villa" in istro should be avoided at all costs it was filthy and infested in mosquitos which i was told i was just there at the wrong time i paid for 2 months and didnt even get my money back as promised by the boss instead the day i was leaving i was told id get just 300 back clearly didnt mention that before but left it for the day i was leaving! i found the staff very unfriendly they sit around smoking all day and would pull faces if my daughter so much as said squeak or petted the dogs they have there. the cleaner only changes your bin bag. the food is average but everyday the same nothing traditional like they say! The shower water was cold everyday. The mosquitos eat you alive in this place. not impressed and i would not recommend it.
