  Normal hotel for sleep

  Standard rooms, basic amenities. A little bit slow wifi. You'd better rush to have breakfast, because later there is almost no food. The rooms don't have double beds, just two twin beds in different corners of the room. Near Prague. In the evening, you can go for a walk in small and lovely old Beroun town.

  Back to the 80s

  This is place is quite in rather negative terms - it is rather a time machine, travel back in time. At check-in I was given my key and told that the room was on the 3rd floor. There was no such room... It was actually on the second. When I told it to the reception clerk she was surprised. Quite strange. My room looked like a uni dormitory, not a three-star hotel. However, it was clean and quiet. The food was okay, average. The whole hotel smells after cigarette smoke which was irritating. I just passed through the smoking part of the hotel on my way to the breakfast room and my shirt smelled as if I stayed there for hours. All in all, there are better places.

  Good, not too special

  Really simple. Nor too good nor too great, offers what you expect - a place to sleep for a night. One of the better places to stay if one plans to travel further on the next day. Wouldn't want to stay for longer.

  Time warp

  The hotel has been spaciously set up but is in pretty poor shape. The bed was rather uncomfortable with spartan fittings in the bedroom. Nothing to please the eye. The staff were detached and not really aiming to please. One receptionist could not speak English. Breakfast was rather disgraceful. Not so much in what they provided but rather in their lack of extra supplies. We were in a large group but the food that ran out was not replenished. If you came in slightly later, you would not find yoghurt, eggs, coffee. Amazing since they knew a lot of people were expected for breakfast. Dinner was also poor in quality and with no eye for the way it was presented on the plate. As soon as one was finished the plate was yanked away. A three course meal took about 20 minutes. One suspects it was so the staff could go home at 8pm rather than half an hour later. The bar was usually closed when we got back at , say , 10.15 . All lacking in hospitality. The staff should try and remember that they should aim to please the clientele rather than be as efficient as possible. The location is fine, close to the town centre and the station and with plenty of parking space

  Meet the standard

  You cannot expect much from this hotel. However, it meets our basic need. Wifi is there but signal is bad. You can only get strong signal around the reception area and 1/F corridor area where you can see the ice rink. We come here with a big group for hockey training. Breakfast is acceptable with many cheese options and cold cut. Hot items included sausage, scrambled egg, boiled eggs and some unknown food. The room is a bit old fashioned with a very old and small TV set. But the bedsheet and cover are clean. Toilet is clean. We had some meals at the restaurant during the training. Food is ok, at least they are big portion. Waiters are very very friendly and nice! They smiled all the time! I think you dont see this kind of standard in other Czech restaurants!
