Good size rooms, well maintained, lovely views.First impressions of Areti were good the apartment was of good size with a nice patio area with a hedge, lovely views over the sea,all well maintained, sink even had push down type plug Kitchenette had a good size fridge with ice box, with everything you would need to self cater. bedroom with TV, Air con extra at 50 euro a week, Beds & towels changed regularly Pool area has lovely views over the bay, of course the downside to this is the step walk up to the complex. The walk to the village is a bit tricky at night due to no pavement and not very good lighting. It is worth catching the bus from bus stop outside Arti to Skiathos town (get off at bus stop 4) all for 2 Euros per adult one way, children free, Bus can crowded go earlier in the evening if possible (6pm)

Nice enough for the moneyA relatively pleasant two week stay in room #22 on the ground floor. First things first the hill to the complex is rather steep and probably not suitable if you struggle mobility wise, nice enough to burn off some of the holiday indulgence however! First impressions, as a ground floor apartment the views were limited due to large but well kept bushes and trees the room also had limited sun due to the roof terrace and bushes. Entering the apartment a good size and nicely furnished self catering accommodation so all the basic amenities provided. The bedroom again good size and modern furnishings, big wardrobe and plenty of space. Plenty of coat hangers too. The bedroom also houses the air conditioning unit which is an extra fee and cost us 100 for the two weeks (wasnt the best air con and although it was still high 20s temperature the bedroom would still be warm relatively warm with the air con on its lowest setting) and further to this a safety deposit box again at a cost of 40 Beds were comfortable and a good supply of blankets, sheets & pillows. The only let down for me was that the beds were two single mattresses pushed together. On the final day of our holiday whilst packing and double checking I always have a check under the bed for anything that may have been dropped. not one to search a room for flaws nor did I take pictures but the floor underneath was pretty grim with dust, sand and grime and the odd finger or toe nail. Ideally needs pulling out and vacuuming properly. Further to this when the apartment was cleaned they also tended to open the large double windows in the bedroom and then close a pair of external shutters with a latch which could be opened from the outside without issue and something I did personally. Whilst I appreciate that Skiathos isnt likely to be teeming with thieves given that all of our personal possessions, clothing and the like is in the apartment on the ground floor I was a little uncomfortable about the windows been left wide open. I may have been overly cautious and it probably wouldnt bother everyone. Moving on then the kitchen / lounge area had a comfy corner sofa and then a mini oven, cutlery and all that is required self catering. Clean and tidy and a good quality new looking fridge. The bathroom unfortunately was the let down of the apartment from day one we had a problem with swarms of small flies almost like miniature butterflies which we identified from google as drain flies we prevented them spreading into the apartment by shutting the door or squishing them unfortunately the cleaner left the bathroom door open and they would spread to the kitchen. Further to this the shower for one reason or another I can only assume through replacement did not fit into its clip on the wall so in order to shower you would have to do it with the shower in your hand. For the sake of a couple of quid I feel like the clip could have been changed quite easily along with the shower head. Im aware that self catering accommodation tends to be basic but basic things such as a bit of housekeeping goes a long way in my opinion overall it met my expectations and I would be happy to go back a little rough round the edges with certain things but easily rectifiable. If you do stay here make sure to wander down to the bottom of the Areti hill and turn left following the road to Agia Paraskevi a handful of very nice restaurants and places to grab a drink. Platanias was a favourite very welcoming, good quality food and portion sizes. Sets the tone when they pop two ouzos on the table before youve even had your starter! Avoid the supermarket next to Iguana bar at all costs Im fairly confident they just smash the calculator three times and you pay whatever number pops up. 15 for a tub of ice cream and a pack of water and no receipt provided, even a snigger from the lady behind the till as she said the price. Wander further along and youll find Jimmys restaurant super hospitable and we found ourselves returning several mornings for breakfast. Visiting Skiathos town is also a must and the bus collects you from across the road at bus stop #17 costs 2 to go into town I would recommend getting off at bus stop 0 on the harbour a lovely walk and it gives you a good base to wander into the back streets to the plethora of restaurants and bars. If youre in the market also theres plenty of hire companies with quads, scooters and cars, haggle where you can and cash is king some hidden gems of beaches to check out as well as the panoramic view restaurants and not to forget the dog sanctuary. Enjoy your holiday!

A different islandA beautiful chilled out place with fantastic views. The ground floor room was very nice with everything you would need . The shower hose wouldn't stay in the holder but as we go to Greece every year we are used to the simple way it is and you just adapt. The only thing that miffed us was after the first few days the bar started to run out of alcohol as we like to go out for a meal and finish at the home bar. If we had known we would have booked a couple of weeks earlier. We arrived on the 13 of September and thought had at least another month. They went out to get some beer and came back with 10 bottles and 4 of us were beer drinkers . I can understand that something doesn't keep but whatever beer they bought we would have drunk so no extra expense. All in all we loved the Areti but go a little earlier.

Great locationWe enjoyed our stay at the Areti apartments this September. Location was great as between two towns where there were plenty of restaurants and the bus stop was practically at the end of the (steep!) Driveway. Also close to some lovely beaches. Hotel pool was lovely with great views and a nice bar and seating area. Hotel well maintained with lots of lovely plants and flowers. We stayed in room 24 which whilst it was VERY basic, it was spotlessly clean. Bathroom was small but serviceable. Kitchinette was adequate for our use. Had all the appliances you would need but basic. The best thing about out room was the beautiful view over the sea ftom the ample balcony, stunning! Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend this self catering apartment so long as you don't mind basic accommodation, but feel this is reflected in the price we paid as it was a bit of a bargain.

Lovely stayMy daughter and I stayed here at Areti room 36.Its a,double bed,but we should have asked for twin beds, ourfault. However we slept peacefully and had a lovely week at these apartments. The lady manager was wonderful and replaced the hairdryer in the bathroom inmediately, when it was broken.Lovely lady, very informative and helpful.Lovely big balcony and room adequate with small 2 ring cooker, fridge abd utensils . Bus stop 17 across road is to go into Skiathos town.Hotel side of road, the bus goes to Koukanaries beach, at end of island. No bus stop sign, but they stop opposite bus sign 17. Bus fares vary from 3 to 4 euros.Conductor has change on the bus.To go to Skiathos town get off at bus stop 4 and walk down to Papadiamantis street, which leads to the harbour. Would highly recommend Areti for peaceful holiday.Lovely staff and thanks to Karen for making me nice coffees too.Lovely clean, new swimming pool with many sun loungers, to make your holiday a good one.Thank you Areti .
