  Disappointed family get-together

  Our extended family planned a Christmas holiday at the resort from Dec 25-28th and we required three units close together. We were told that while we could not get the units in the same building they were only a five minute walk apart. Dont believe them. We needed to drive between each unit and during the winter is not easy to drive up and down the steep roads to each building. The units are very clean, are stocked with everything you would need, however dated. We barely stayed in our unit because it was so far away from the main family unit. On Dec 26th there was an ice storm and while we had the opportunity to walk to the recreation centre, we found it to be cold, most of the sports equipment old or broken, the hot tub was also out of service. The pathways and roads were covered in ice and not sanded or salted so very hard to get around. One of our cars slid down the steep hill and crashed into a snowbank because there was no salt/gravel on the road. We called the front desk for help and was told it was not their problem but ours. Our car sustained some damage to the bumpers and need to be pulled out by a truck because it stuck, again the resort management did not provide any assistance. The resort did not take any responsibility in the negligence of their property and the management took weeks to respond to our concern. We now have to pay for the damage to our car ourselves, a very expensive few days vacation up north. I would not recommend this resort to if you are planning any winter activities.

  Comfortable surroundings, relaxing atmosphere and attentive staff.

  Only been there a few times to eat and the food was excellent on both occasions. The background music wasn't too loud and the service was prompt and very professional. Their roast beef is exceptional and the lamb was just as good. If you're looking for a quiet evening in order to enjoy a first rate dinner then this is the place to go.

  Beautiful surroundings but very run down

  We have stayed here in the past and always had a beautiful one or two bedroom unit. This was our first visit in a few years but we still expected the same type of modern, well-kept unit. We were very disappointed with the state of it. It was extremely run-down and tired. Everything from the paint to the blinds to the carpet was very old and tired. The heat didn't work but they did bring us an electric heater. The fireplace worked but they didn't supply wood or offer it for sale.

  We stayed 3 nights in a one bedroom.

  The small one bedroom condo was just fine for our stay in the area. The view was lovely and it was clean. It could use a new blow dryer so take your own. We took tea and coffee and dairy and snacks. The kitchen was fine for morning coffee and snacks but I wouldn't attempt dinner. Beds were comfortable.

  Eating at Grandview

  We had an amazing meal at Grandview, the food the service and the experience was exceptional. We had the roast beef special which was outstanding. Our server was friendly and prompt. We will defiantly go again!
