    Increíble experiencia japonesa (no occidental)

    Traditional Japanese Ryokan

We had an amazingly spacious room(s) on the 5th floor, which, unlike the other ryokans wed stayed in, had a separate space for meditation, although the bed was still a futon on the floor ! We were given an option on arrival for more western-style food, which we opted for, given wed somewhat overindulged with Japanese sushi over the previous 10 days. We had arrived shortly after 1 oclock in the afternoon, and were (politely) told that the establishment did not open before 3. However, they took our suitcases, and completed the registration, and we drifted down to the village for the intervening hour or so. The evening meal comprised of 13 separate courses (well, dishes at least), which was served in our room. The food was tasty and good, and I managed to eat everything, even the burger, chips and noodles which comprise of one course, so you can imagine the rest ... I could barely move ! Wed reserved a private onsen on arrival, which was an experience. Down some steps outdoors, up some more, and we found ourselves in an open shed with steaming tub full of thermal spring water: we spent a good 20 minutes in the tub (more like a plunge pool), and the experience was certainly novel, as well as being invigorating, or in my wifes case, soporific ! Wi-fi connection in the room is haphazard, and generally slow, but then you are out in the sticks, although in the 4th floor lounge, there seems to be little problem with speed, and it is free. Breakfast came with rolls and butter / jam, as wed requested, but the rest of it was very Japanese, and quite overwhelming given the number of dishes, but very palatable and enjoyable ... Overall, this was the best Ryokan wed stayed in during our time in Japan, although as with most of these establishments, conversing in English was a challenge ...

Great and authentic experience May 2018 not 2019!!

It was a great 3d2n at 1 of the rooms with open air in-room onsen. It was great to be able to take a soak whenever we felt like it. The reservable private bath (we only got to try the circular one in a hut) was huge! Maybe it could fit 8 people? The food was also amazing. While my husband could enjoy the delicacy of raw food, I couldn't stomach it as well so I told them about this. They accommodated to my request perfectly. Anyway we stay 2 nights and we had different food for each breakfast and dinner. The steak on the second night was to die for. They also had pick up and drop off service and the welcome for us was very smooth and pleasant. As we left, they offered to help us take a picture (which we did) and I thought it was a nice touch because we did express our fondness for the decorations and such. I read some negative reviews but I think we were lucky to get a patient and well-experienced lady who assisted us throughout our stay. The speed of serving of food was good and well-paced. We also had a shiatsu massage in the room and I felt that it was a nice addition to a good night's sleep! I think if this is a first time experience for you, definitely consider going for the open air in room onsen; nothing else can really come close to the experience of having a soak in the privacy of your own room. I think this ryokan is very ideal for people on honeymoon or just want a relaxed trip. Take your time to enjoy and if you have any requests or concerns, be sure to contact them in advance and I'm sure they'll be glad to help. Overall, it's a good experience and I would go back again sometime!

    A wonderful experience

We stayed here one night only- upon arrival I was presented with a beautiful blue fan which I accidentally left behind in our room. We slept on futons, had a private, outside onsen time and had dinner ( 13 courses) and breakfast (;I think 6 courses) cooked and served in our room by Keiko. A menu is provided so you know what what you are eating- all unusual to our western diet, but delicious. When in Japan you really should try this once.

    Amazing Experience!

It was our first time at a ryokan and it was incredible. We stayed on the 4th floor in the 'Japanese Style Superior Room' and it was very spacious with beautiful views. I am a vegetarian and they accommodated me perfectly in the dinner and breakfast. The food was absolutely amazing and the onsen's on the property were wonderful as well. Make sure you arrange for them to pick you up at the bus/train station if you are taking public transportation - we got off at the closest bus stop and thought we could walk to the property, but it turns out that it's not possible with the extremely narrow roads. We ended up taking another bus back to the stop where they normally pick up guests and they picked us up quickly. Highly, highly recommend this place!
