    Lovely environment

Warmly welcomed into spacious, clean room overlooking serene gardens leading down to sparkling creek. Really pleasant experience, but some noise penetration (air conditioning? bathroom exhaust fans?) from outside. Excellent location for sightseeing, cafes, restaurants.

    Unique Accommodation

Two night stay in this unique accommodation was very pleasant. Tania is lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Very happy to recommend for a couple getaway. Recommend nearby Codfather for delightful fish&chips.

    A truly restful weekend

I think weve found our new go-to for the perfect weekend getaway. Once youre up on Mt Tambourine you are really away from it all. Be prepared for the tranquility, birdsong, fresh air. Stonehaven host, Tania, greeted us cheerily, pointing out the basics, assuring us that she was here if you need, but otherwise leaving us to enjoy the place at our leisure. Room (Edinburgh) was spacious, quaint, with a gorgeously comfy bed. Dish of lollies was a lovely touch. Spa bath was huge, hot water was plentiful. Only complaint - a bench to put toiletries on would have been handy in the bathroom. Garden is lovely with a gazebo overlooking a little creek. Perfect for an afternoon wine! Restaurants, bottle shop, chemist and IGA are a short walk away. Tip - book a table for dinner. Restaurants close at 9pm. Some find this irritating, but we just adjusted our expectations- it was kind of nice driving home through sleepy deserted streets. Restful!

    Just Great

Owners were not intrusive which was great for us. Tania and husband telt us what was what and off we went. They have a smashing rugby field sized back garden where (we're told) platypus charge around at dusk. Didn't see them as we were too knackered after our days. The bed is a king sized with usb chargers on each side.... plus... The room we had (Loch Ness) is the same we had 10 or so years ago. It's huge with a wee fridge, kettle, tea and coffee (replaced each day). Didn't expect it but, surprisingly, the room was made up each day. Top marks there. Proper spa bath which I don't usually use. After my Witches Falls walk I did. Fantastic. Don't expect a lift but it's only one flight of stairs. We stayed over the Valentine's Day weekend of 2021 and were presented with a good handful of chocolates in the morning. I ate all of them. Perfect hotel to visit Curtis Falls, Two nice wee cafe's (only three minutes' walk away) which served a breakfast way cheaper and just as good as the ones further up (or down) Tamborine. I sound like an advertising agent but Stonehaven Manor is perfectly positioned between the Eagle Heights Gallery (hohum) and other places like the St Bernard Hotel, Clancy's Bar, Marsala Indian, et al. It's not at all twee Scottish which is good. On the way up we saw a sign for a restaurant which also had Reindeers. Didn't see any sheeps. Wonder if they have a lake with salmons and trouts?

    Rainy days in the Highlands

Stayed here for four nights and would certainly return. Hosts were welcoming and invisible except when required. The property is large for the number of guests who may be staying and the rooms are also large and spacious. Bed was comfy, and bathroom had everything required including a jetted spa. It is important to recognise that this property is not set up for self catering however crockery and cutlery is available for you to take back to your room if you have decided to bring home some take away rather than eat in town, where the restaurants may not be able to accommodate you in these odd times. There is a shared microwave in the main room for anyone to use and a toaster. An iron and ironing board in every room would be better than having to ask the hosts for access to the shared one every time my partner decided she needed some exercise. Other than that go to Stonehaven and chill out on the mountain
