Nice hotel great location for the Gondola roomy rooms nice and clean, food a bit hit and miss tried my best to get the chap serving coffees at breakfast to smile to no avail. All in all worth a visit.

Well worth a visit
Stayed at the Sport for half term as a family of 4. Rooms were clean, spacious and great for a family. The food was very good, something for everyone, even my fussy pre teenager. Only irritation was having to pay 10 lev on leaving as we misplaced a plastic room card. Would definitely stay again if we go back to Bansko. Great location and a shout out to the gentleman who looks after the ski/boot room who helped my 2 kids put their boots on and off and stored their skis for them.

Half Term Ski Holiday
Me & my husband stayed at MPM Hotel Sport from 15th - 22nd February during the half term holidays. We booked via British Airways holidays. On arrival at Sofia Airport our transfer driver was waiting for us (my name was on a sign). We followed him outside to find we were the only passengers. It took appx 2-3 hours from Sofia Airport to the hotel. The transfer cost was included as part of our package although we tipped the driver 20 Bulgarian Lev. *Tip - easier to use Bulgarian Lev than any other currencies although you can exchange in town for around the same exchange rate or more than the UK - no commission* On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the doorman who helped us in with all of our luggage. We tipped him 10 Bulgarian Lev. We were shown to our room - Room 123. This didn't disappoint- it was a large room with 2 twin needs pushed together (we did request a double but this was okay). The room was very spacious and it had a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel (again we had requested the back of the hotel but this wasn't an issue). The bathroom had a bath and an overhead shower. There was plenty of space to hang wet clothes on the towel rail and space for ski boots on the tiled floor. The rooms were cleaned everyday. Towels, new toilet rolls, toiletries, beds made up, etc ... There are robes & slippers for you to use - we used these to go to the pool on the lower floor. We had breakfast and dinner included in our package. Breakfast: 7am - 10am Dinner: 6pm - 9pm The food did not disappoint. There was plenty of choice. So many breads, hams, cheeses, choice of soup, fruits, main courses, daily special & desserts. The only complaint we had was at breakfast time - especially as soon as they opened at 7am - it was very busy - so much so that we didn't get a table on 2 mornings or when we did we had to share with others. The staff were always friendly and welcoming. Although the dining staff could possibly hold off from taking plates as I was still eating my food when they tried to take them away. The pool area was really nice. Very spacious and clean. There was a sauna, steam rooms & a hot tub outside that were included for you to use. The hotel also has a spa where you can have various treatments from facials to massages - all at very reasonable prices. We used the ski hire shop next to the hotel to hire our skis & poles. I'd contacted them prior to arrival and they had them ready for us to collect. 180 Bulgarian Lev for 6 days hire in total for both of us. The hotel also has a boot room where you can store your ski equipment. We loved the ski in / ski out option from the back of the hotel to the gondola. Saved carrying all your ski equipment at the end of the day. We will definitely return and highly recommend to anyone that is looking to stay in Bansko.

Good stay at the MPM sport hotel
We stayed as a group of 5 half board at this hotel for skiing. Knowing the rules of 4 star hotels normally being overrated at ski resorts we were pleasantly surprised. We were checked in efficiently and our twin rooms were large and comfortable. The bathroom is nice with good toiletries provided. The boot room is attended and heated and the door staff are proactive and helpful. They even booked us a van to go up to the slopes each day. In the bar we found Lubka to be very friendly and attentive. She took time out to recommend wines for us and described them with great passion for the country. Thank you Lubka we will miss you. You are a credit to the hotel. As others have said things go slightly off the mark in the restaurant. The heating lamps got the buffet have failed or are ineffective and what would have been good home produced food can either be tepid or dried out. The staff in the restaurant seemed a little cold the first night but after we had be polite and respectful with them they warmed a little. In short there his a good selection of food breakfast and dinner that you can treat as refuelling. I used the spa and it was great to use for those achy legs with a pool, sauna and steam room. The massage was very good and around £40 for 1 hour which is good value. Gabi on reception was charming and was really helpful in the spa. All in all a good value stay with great facilities and some lovely staff. Expect average in the restaurant or plan to eat out and the hotel will pleasantly surprise you.

Treated like prisoners
We arrived on the day that the government announced a corona virus lock down starting from the following day, we were informed by the manager the following morning of this that we had no access to any facilities and had to take all meals in our room with limited choice. She then finished conversation by saying we would be better off going back to our country. Given that we had flown out for a friends wedding and stayed in the mpm numerous times as we have visited bansko for the last 9 years I was shocked by the managers behaviour towards us. The following day the wedding got cancelled and the situation escalated very quickly, I tried for 3 days to get earlier flights home as the attitude of the hotel towards myself and two teenage children was disgusting. We were served cold inedible food each morning to our rooms with limited options by rude staff staff that did not understand English nor cared what we had to say. We were given no means of options if drinks or any other meals, given the town was on lock down are only option was the supermarket and a handful of restaurants that would deliver takeaway to the hotel. This trip has completely put me off bansko and I will never return. I understand the country is in a crisis but the behaviour of our hotel was extreme, every day they tried to throw us out to the point yesterday I had to contact the British embassy to intervene as the manager told us to get our things and get out with nowhere to go until our flight left the following day. I hold the hotel responsible for me spending my trip in a state of anxiety as they did nothing to try and make the situation as comfortable as possible only heighten the trauma it was causing, my friends in another hotel 5 mins away were being treated completely different and shown compassion and understanding. The hotel stopped servicing our room, left dirty pots, rubbish, dirty towels and bedding and basically washed their hands of us. This is not a situation a mother and her two children chose to be in in a foreign country, the hotel could have tried to ease our discomforts but instead showed us hostility.
