  Beautiful room and exceptional food

  My husband and I drove from Nagoya to Mozumo, since its the end of October , the leaves were all turning red, and the drive was wonderful seeing the autumn leaves. Mozumo is tucked away from the main road and hidden amongst the trees. We couldnt see it until we were at its doorsteps. Its a very quiet hotel ( and the no kids policy helps ), we could only hear the nature outside our room. The floor to ceiling doors on the balcony (which connects to the open air onsen bath) slide open completely, and we really had a sense that we were amongst the trees. The food served was Kaiseki style, was exceptional! Their special local beef was incredible. We had a lovely stay there and would definitely recommend to our friends.

  Dont miss it

  We just spend a night at Mozumo at the end of October and while the booking process on their website is a challenge to use (thanks Google translator!), the staff at the ryokan spoke very good English and we had a great and relaxing time among the fall colors in the Japanese alps. If you are in the area, definetely worth an overnight stay.

  A traditional Japanese experience like no other

  The perfect couples retreat in the sleepy, hidden Onsen village. This accomodation has beautiful scenery and was built around the lush landscape. Breakfast and dinner is available however you have to give them at least three days warning before your visit if you intend to eat here. They also shuttle to and from the main bus stop. Very peaceful and a lovely experience.

  Stunning place - but confirm your meals!

  Overall this was everything we hoped it would be - beautiful location overlooking a lush forest, 5 minutes walk from the bus station. Incredibly relaxing, wonderful hot springs, delicious food, friendly staff, and close proximity to Kamikochi for our hiking. Highly highly recommend this place. -The one big piece of advice we have is to confirm your meals several days in advance if you intend on eating breakfast and/or dinner on site! We booked through Amex travel website, and this proved to complicate things. We thought meals were included at our rate (they were not), and apparently Mozumo normally reaches out via email or through your booking service to confirm your meal plans. This never happened, so we arrived without dinner available to us on the first night. So just make sure you confirm directly with Mozumo what your meal plan is! I even messaged them through Booking.com the day before, but whoever was corresponding with me on behalf of Mozumo didn't confirm whether we were confirmed for meals or not. I believe I have their direct email address now if someone needs helps contacting the property.

  Beautiful onsen

  Upon arrival the serene walkway gave us a superb impression.. the lobby was so kind of zen . Along the way to the room is a quiet long hall walk- nice!! The room was with hot spring - very lovely ambience . Dinner was served in the room and the room was sumptuous!! Staff are friendly as well ;)
