  Make your own bed!

  Upon checking in we were told that we would only have maid service every 5th day due to Covid. We were just at another resort a mile away and had our rooms cleaned and bed made daily so I believe this was company policy and not a government mandate. After several days of chasing down the every fifth day maid in the hallway to get more toilet paper, coffee cups, new towels, etc., our bed only being made if we made it, the tile floors were only wiped down if we did it, the carpet was dirty as we had no vacuum, every 5th day maid service didnt cut it. We also had to tolerate the public hallways where there was left over room service trays, empty wine glasses and left over food on the floor outside the room doors. I noted them one time and they were there over 24 hours before getting picked up. All in all an unpleasant resort experience.

  MOD WITH A NOD

  We only intended to stay for 5 nights and ended up extending our trip to 9 nights. The PM Manager, Coolidge, worked tirelessly with us to secure a room for our additional time. The resort has a modern feel with a nod to mid-century. The pool is at the heart of the property, but if you want a bit more tranquility stay at the far ends closest to Camelback Mountain or stay on the side facing the lawn. We initially stayed in a Studio Suite, which was top notch. The suite felt like a well thought out, uncluttered, modern home complete with full kitchen, dining area, living room, bedroom, master bath, walk-in closet, and large balcony. Due to our extension request during the high occupancy Valentine's weekend, we had to shift to a Signature Room, which although not as spacious as the Studio Suite, still had everything the average traveler would need. We had our two dogs with us, and they were perfectly pampered in this pet friendly resort. The food at Hearth 61 was delicious, especially the Hawaiian swordfish, the strawberry panna cotta, the chicken sandwich, and the fruit plate. The staff was first rate; friendly and professional. We would highly recommend this resort to travelers who enjoy the sweet life but at a more reasonable price than some other resorts in the area.

  Wedding weekend

  This resort hosted our daughter's wedding. After having a previously planned California wedding get cancelled due to a state mandated shutdown, Mountain Shadows helped us make a quick pivot and plan our wedding here. The place was amazing and the staff was fantastic. They made sure everything went well and when we needed to make any adjustments they were flexible and aiming to please. I highly recommend the resort for a short stay or your family event. Much thanks to Greg Wirth! Greg & company were excellent hosts. We will be back some day!

  Wow! In the Desert!

  From the moment we arrived, we felt an overwhelming sense of hospitality. The setting and architecture were absolutely remarkable. I would highly recommend Mountain Shadows if youre looking for a relaxing and memorable get away!

  Not there yet but so far , impressed !

  Cant WAIT to go here early April while my son visits colleges over spring break. Shout out to Cynthia in reservations who provided excellent customer service. If this first impression is indicative of our time there, we are in for a real treat !! Counting the days !! Thank you Cynthia !
