  Warm, peaceful, enchanting!

  My boyfriend and I stayed in the beautiful Homestead for a weekend away. We have previously stayed at this estate and could not resist experiencing this once more! The place is warmed upon arrival and provided everything we needed for a perfect winter weekend; thick, luxurious towels, bathroom products, robes, slippers, fireplace, electric blankets, full kitchen amenities and a very warming atmosphere. We especially enjoyed sleeping in absolute peace and quiet, waking up to singing birds and sharing some bubbles on the deck. We love it because it takes us away from our busy lives, into a relaxing, calm and elegant space to just soak up and unwind. It is also right in the middle of Sassafras town centre where we enjoyed lots of treating ourselves. We will be back - could not be happier! Thank you again for having us.

  Generous attention to detail

  We stayed at the Gatehouse Cottage. Beautifully renovated but faithful to its 100 year heritage, we found it to be warm, comfortable, romantic and quiet. It is beautifully styled and generous in its provisions. Every need has been anticipated and catered to. In the middle of winter I expected to be cold but rest assured, this was not the case. The cottage was already warm on arrival because someone had thoughtfully turned on the heater for us. The open fire was delightful and the heated towel rails and separate heater in the bathroom along with a spa bath, ensured we were not going to freeze. I have never left a review before but really felt compelled to do so for this property. We will absolutely be back!!!

  Total indulgence

  My fiance and I stayed in the gatekeeper cottage as a weekend escape from work and kids. The booking process and key pick up were easy and hassle free. The cottage is located just off the main road on a dead end street, making it central but also very quiet. When we arrived at the cottage the lights and heater were on ready for us to just make ourselves at home. The cottage contains a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge room with gas heating, an open fire place, a tv which has access to Netflix, Stan and free to air tv plus a selection of books, CDs, games and DVDs. The bedroom has a two person spa plus there is a seperate bathroom with a shower. Outside the estate has 3 acres of gardens you can wander through plus a half tennis court which is also available to guests. Included in the price was a continental breakfast which gave us more than enough choices. When asked which part of our trip was his favourite my fiance replied the cottage. It was such a fantastic experience and I'd definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a couples getaway.

  Stayed in the Homestead

  Daughter and I stayed in the Homestead ant Moulton Park over the long weekend (football long weekend). It was full to bursting in the Dandenongs so it was nice to reach the peace and quiet of this property. Picking up the keys, the lady on duty was not particularly helpful or friendly. For example, you enter the second driveway on the estate not the first. The first driveway is for the two smaller cottages and it is very hard to get out of that drive if you make a mistake going in there. The lady who was on duty on the Sunday when we dropped the keys back (I think she said she use to live at Moulton park) was lovely. The Homestead is a grand and luxurious country estate with lovely grounds. It is a very large home with first class amenities. We found the house a little to cold and had trouble overriding the heating but if you are good at keeping the log fires burning you should be fine. We did find a couple of very cracked wine glasses that had been put back in the cupboard which were a bit dangerous. The WiFi is very patchy. All in all, this is a very luxurious property and would be a great place to hold a wedding or family get-together. There are two smaller properties on the estate which are visible from the Homestead but not too close. Would love to go back one day.

  Perfect accommodation

  Staying in the Homestead was absolutely perfect. So many thoughtful details and the home itself is breathtaking! We had two nights over the past weekend with three couples attending a family 60th wedding anniversary and couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, elegant, yet comfortable and homely accommodation. Close to the quaint little villages of Sassafras and Olinda and therefore short drive to fantastic little cafes, shops and tavern. Very impressed! Will not be our last visit.
