  Peaceful and Charming

  We stayed here en-route to Spain for one night. The welcome was excellent and the superior room overlooking the mill pond and march was smart, tidy and comfortable.There is a footpath through the march which can be reached in a few minutes from the Hotel - the noise from the Heronry at dusk when walking through the marsh sounded prehistoric. Plenty of parking available and peaceful overnight. The evening meal was better than we had expected from previous reviews, quality ingredients beautifully presented. We will definitely return in the future.

  Wonderful Family-Run Hotel

  When booking our phone calls and emails were amusing - Maud has a great sense of humour - and we knew our stay would be good. We spent 4 delightful nights at this lovely hotel. On arrival we were worried that the proximity of the road would make it impossible for my wife to sleep - we were reassured by Maud and she was right. The room was immaculate, well appointed, lovely linens, the bathroom was spacious - everything had been well thought through. We had dinner twice, Dominic ensured we enjoyed our meals which were excellent. Maud gave us good advice on trips to take, places to see and routes to follow. Her parents (the owners) were charming - this is a place well worth travelling to - you will not be disappointed

  Excellent Small Hotel Off The Beaten Path

  Travelling with another couple through France, Spain and into Portugal, we found this little gem on line for around $100 per night. Stayed two nights and explored nearby Rochfort and La Rochelle. The rooms were fine with modern conveniences and a nice little parlor between our rooms for pre dinner drinks. The inn is set off a main road out in the country and situated in a bucolic setting next to a small lake. We had nice views from our rooms and watched an enormous swan floating quietly by on the water. We had dinner both nights at the superb restaurant at the inn and very much enjoyed the food and the service; the staff throughout the facility was extremely friendly and helpful. There is ample, free parking next to the inn and they offer free wifi as well. If you are in the area and want a quiet, elegant small hotel off the beaten track we would highly recommend the Moulin de Chalons.

  Escapada de verano

  Hemos pasado unos días alojados en este hotel. Bonito lugar y bien decorado y muy tranquilo. Personal atento y amable con ganas de agradar y hacerte la estancia más agradable. Lo hemos utilizado como base para conocer la zona.

  Birthday party

  We wanted to celebrate a family birthday party in this hotel. Everything was set up for us to enjoy this evening. We've been asked to choose our meals based on the different choices suggested in the menu for this season with very good advices given by Celine to help us. The meals were a treat for the eyes and for the palate.... Max made a delicious birthday cake and that had been suggested by the team for our enjoyment. We needed to put on some music and wanted to have a projector... Their projector was broken and Celine went in town to buy a new one just to be sure we could watch our videos. We stayed for the night, the bedrooms are all new, well decorated with very modern bathrooms. Products offered are all organic.... Breakfast is continental, quite simple but very fresh and delicious (on ne peut pas resister aux brioches!) In the morning, we went for a run, the area was peaceful, surrounded by cows and horses and then in 30 minutes we were at the seaside to carry on this wonderful week end. Absolutely perfect for adults and kids !
