  good place for a budget stay

  The room was fine, though not as clean as I'd prefer (a lot of dust and dirt behind and under things, but the main surfaces were fine). There was a mirror over the bed which was amusing... The bathroom could use some serious updating. All that said, the staff was so incredibly friendly and full of smiles, it was a real pleasure to stay there, though I could have done without the alarm going off at 5 a.m. my first morning--it hadn't been reset between guests, apparently. A good place to stay, not expensive, and the breakfast was fine. The coffee I should add was strong and tasty, which was a big plus as I'd been bracing myself for the usual diner-type coffee.

  Very pleasant stay

  We were able to spend only one night, but very much enjoyed our stay. This is an older motel, and the bath could certainly use updating, but the room was very spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable. The refrigerator was oversized...the nicest and roomiest we had during a five-week road trip. Plus, the staff was very friendly and helpful. A basic breakfast was included, and the coffee was great.

  A new standard for bad.

  Things I didnt like. 1. The door was open when we arrived. This let a lot of flies into the room. 2. The air conditioner did not work which explains why the door was open. It was a very hot day and the room was like a fly infested sauna. 3. There was black mold all around the bathtub. 4. Thick cobwebs in the corners and under furniture. 5. Terrible breakfast. Stale white bread and bagels. 6. Mirrors on the ceiling. Which indicates this place may have rented rooms by the hour at some point in the past. The mirrors were filthy. Things I liked. 1. The staff were pleasant.

  Suspicious insects, be cautious

  I would have given it a two or even possibly a three star except that I suspect there were insects sharing the room with us. While I had not caught any live ones, we did find a few dried up bugs on the sheets and at the corners of the bed. The sides of the mattress looked filthy. Breakfast was better than expected, corn flakes,fruit loops, rice crispy, bread, white, wheat or various kinds of bagels. Sliced kraft cheese, marmalade and peanut butter besides butter. Apples, bananas and oranges. Tea,coffee and nestle quick chocolate and hot water. Coffee tasted a bit burnt to me. Milk, apples and oranges juices. I personally wouldnt stay there again but owners are friendly and if you are on a budget, it may be a risk you are willing to take.

  Nice budget hotel.

  Yes, this is an older hotel and the decor is dated. No, this is not for people who would like an ultramodern, top of the line place. However, if you are looking for a very clean, budget place to lay your head for the night, I would highly recommend this place. The breakfast was a basic continental and well laid out. There is a small pool, but you are not far from the river.
