Stay AwayWe stayed here on May 11, 2019 in a handicapped room. If you value your life, run don 't walk away from this shabby motel. In our room the A/C Heater was falling off the wall and you could see outside with cold air penetrating the room on a very cold night. We laid towels over it to keep the cold air, insects and rodents out. On inspection of escape routes, discovered that 3 out of 4 exit doors on our side of the motel were permanently locked so in case of a fire you could not escape. Where are fire inspections in this city??? Apparently there are none. This room was cheap and that's what you get for CHEAP. Could not sleep for fear of dying, so left at 4AM.

Nice place, great priceMotel 6 York, NE Very clean and accommodating. With a simple, just the basics approach. No same ole, same ole imitation egg breakfast, but the money you save can get you a great breakfast down the street. I don't care much for the non carpeted floors, but that's only because it is hard on my old feet. It is really easier for them to keep clean.

Pleasantly SurprisedWe travel each year from South Dakota to Arizona and continually try different hotel/motel properties. We tend to stay away from any Motel 6 as we have not had very good luck with the Motel 6 properties, i.e., bad part of town, too noisy and run down. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the Motel 6 in York, Ne. Clean rooms, gracious staff and priced right to just place your head on a pillow.

You get what you pay for! Bad customer service!!My husband, my disabled mother, our 3 Chihuahuas and I needed a staycation after the quarantine. We choose a town close to home, just a little getaway. I was happy to see pets can accompany for free (2 pet limit per room) so we got 2 rooms hoping to have a companion room next to the handicapped room for my mom, or even on the same floor as she relies on us. I called the day of arrival to explain the need to be on the same floor at least, which I was told I was on the second floor (my literal room numbers were given to me) and my mother would be on the bottom floor. Okay fine. We arrived, I asked once more and was told the closest room was a 2 queen room rather then 1 and I would be charged more, so we declined and just dealt with it. It is what it is. We checked in with Heather, who seems to be so used to serving rude or irritating guest that she came off standoff-ish and uninviting. The hotel industry is HOSPITALITY!! I shouldnt feel like a nuisance for spending my money here by renting a room, after all that is what pays your paycheck and continues the cycle of the industry. I ignored her attitude, explained why we needed to be near my mom and the lack of care or concern was sad, I wasnt even mad about it nearly as much as I was saddened, saddened that shes so use to being this way, she doesnt even see the problem. Wondering how many other good guest have felt this way, or that have left for being treated like a lesser person. This is suppose to be hospitality, where is the customer service?! Finally I explained the hospitality company I work for, doesnt accept pets at their York, NE location and that being the only reason I had to (settle to) stay here. I get my keys and say thank you, nothing but silence. Just saddens me, common courtesy is huge in hotel/motel, well I should say, In a good one, it sure is. We walked the dogs, got mom situated, ordered dinner and so forth. I call down to the desk later that night, inquiring about check out time (some properties are 11:00am and others are 12:00pm). The overnight lady is just as rude Umm, 12 o clock?! She says to me, again Im polite (I work front desk, I dont speak to people like they are beneath me) and I ask for a 10am wake up call, Front desk: Hang on, let me get a piece of paper? Me: okay, thank you Front desk: what room are you in? Me: 232 Front desk: Okay? Me: thank you, have a great night Front desk: CLICK If only you could hear the attitude in the words you just read, if only. The handicap room was dirty, worn, most likely from wheelchairs, the floor is tore up, there was a used toothpick under the table, spiders in the bathroom, food in the fridge, stains on the pillows and sheets, the floor seemed dirty, the hallways were stuffy and smelled. Upstairs, you can hear guest and TVs in the other rooms just walking down the hall, this room seemed cleaner then the bottom floor did, so that was the only other perk aside from pets being allowed. The peep hole had something smeared on it, frayed bath curtains. If you need a cheap, not so clean, pet friendly place to stay that has questionable people in and out of the parking lot with terrible customer service? Then look no further! If you want a good experience and something more inviting, I suggest choosing a hotel on the north side of I-80 when your visiting York. I will never stay here again, and because of this hotel, Ill never stay with Motel 6 again.

Go anywhere else!Cheap for a reason! Weed smoke filled hallway! Room was ok! Lots of weed smoke. No coffee! No breakfast! Its a last resort! If you can spare the extra $20 stay next door they have an Applebees, coffee and free breakfast!
