  A Surprise

  Travelling on to Dallas we decided to take a break on our journey. Saw Motel 6 and decide to take a chance on staying there. The lady who booked us in was very nice and polite and I think an asset to the brand. Rooms are large and clean and cleaner than some on the Motel 6 we have stayed in on our journey.

  Not going to return to this location.

  I visit Wichita Falls about 4 times per year and travel with pets, so pet-friendly chains like Motel 6 are favorite, but this location fell far short of normal expectations. I understand the margins are slim with operating costs being what they are, but this location cuts serious corners in basic cleanliness and safety compared to others. Immediately upon entering the room and flipping the light switch, I could see the carpet had not been vacuumed -- there were pieces of dog food, pepperoni, the corner of a plastic food wrapper, and other chunks of crud and general "fluff" on the carpet. The door's upper bolt lock was missing half the latch and thus non-functional. It also took hours for the room to cool down, as the air conditioning was off when we arrived during a heat index of near 100 degrees even after dark. I understand that it is not cost- or energy-efficient to keep rooms air-conditioned if they are unoccupied (which I agree with and support), but I had made a reservation at least a month in advance, and arriving late at night meant that my family could not sleep comfortably until well after midnight. The property is dirty with trash everywhere (including from some of the guests who think emptying their vehicles directly onto the parking lot is what normal people do) and the external trash cans don't have lids, so wind can blow out the contents. On the plus side, this location has abundant hot water, free wi-fi, a television, microwave and refrigerator (no freezer), and is convenient to the freeway, being sandwiched between the north and southbound lanes of Highway 287 (elevated on the east and west sides of the property), however, basic expectations of cleanliness and safety were not met and I do not plan to visit this location again.

  Comfortable Beds

  Room was clean and comfortable. We got into town late and left early the next morning so I didn't see the area. But the bed was amazing, much more comfortable than other Motel 6 locations. Would definitely stay here again.

  As expected!

  You can count on what you expect and receive when staying at Motel 6. This location lived up to the Motel 6 reputation. The room was clean, comfortable and safe. The motel was located near places I wanted to visit.

  This place has some problems

  I would not stay there any longer than one night. It is a very old hotel that hasn't been taken care of very well. I expected something relatively modern, but that's not what I got. There are no USB ports in the room so you can't charge any electronic devices you might have. It's 2019. People have cell phones. The battery in my phone didn't have much of a charge, so I needed the USB port. The curtains were stained and dirty. The sheets were so thin I could see through the top sheet. There was no Kleenex in the bathroom, which is not good for someone who has allergies. There wasn't even a clock in the room, so I had no idea what time it was, and I had an appointment in the morning. What kind of motel doesn't have a clock in it? I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone. There are way better places to stay in Wichita Falls.
