Nice surprise in a very safe areaIt's still Motel 6, so it's not glamourous, but it's a very upscale area, 1 minute away from the freeway... so convenient to Calabasas, Agora even Camarillo. There is so much free easy parking. Be sure to ask for a room where you can park right in front of your room. My room was clean and quiet and everything worked. Be sure to bring your own bottle of shampoo, as Motel 6 only provides small bars of soap. There were several vending machines next to the lobby.

Little GemThe first is the nice English woman behind the counter. Best service Ive come across in years! Then the location & overall great shape the place is kept is a standard other bigger And more expensive chains should strive to follow. Clean and comfortable & safe and within minutes of anything you need on a one night stay.

MsisGreat find, Very clean, well maintained daily from the office to maintenance. Polite, knowledgeable experienced management all around. Staff believes in customer service, and they do not disappoint. This location does not have laundry facilities, however, there are local laundry facilities in the area. Just Google Maps for a location after your check-in. Walking you or your pets in the area is a walk score of 90. 500 ft to restaurants. Security is not an issue here. Outside facilities are maintained impeccably. And plenty of hot water for all rooms a plus. This one is a keeper on your travel list.

Dirty, no frills and not that cheapThis hotel was probably only $20 cheaper than anything else in the area. Dirty bathroom and vanity, dirt and hair found on sheets. Towels were probably a thread count of 2. No complimentary breakfast and no refrigerator. The only thing this hotel afforded was a very nice and helpful receptionist.

Inadequate manager behaviorFirst of all, I'd like to say that I have been a Motel 6' customer since 2009. I have stayed in many of their different locations all over California: Santa Barbara, LAX, Big Bear City, San Diego, and so on. I love traveling and Motel 6 is always my go-to whenever I'm visiting a city. In October 2020, I was living in San Diego and at the end of the month, I had to relocate to Newbury Park because of my job. As this work project is temporary and I do have to drive back to San Diego for a few days every month, my boss decided it would be better for me to stay in hotels because of the daily reservation flexibility. See below all my stays since October 2020: Oct. 22 to Oct. 24 (2 nights) Oct. 26 to Nov. 11 (16 nights) Nov. 13 to Nov. 16 (3 nights) Nov. 19 to Nov. 25 (6 nights) Nov. 27 to Nov. 30 (3 nights) Dec. 04 to Dec. 06 (2 nights) Dec. 13 to Dec. 17 (4 nights) Dec. 22 to Jan. 04 (13 nights)Jan. 07 to Jan. 11 (5 nights) TOTAL SPENT: $3,751.81 *Note that I have always stayed away for 2 or more nights in between reservations. With that being said, during my third stay in November, the front desk lady kindly informed me about their 28 days stay policy and I told her that I was aware of it as I had stayed in many other Motel 6 throughout the past few years. I understand that as defined by the California Civil Code 1940.1, no guest is allowed to stay over 28 days and I obviously do respect that. After that, the manager (only male who works at their front desk), started to make me feel really uncomfortable whenever I was checking-in or renewing my reservation. On every occasion, he would seem very skeptical of my return and he would always tell me that he had to check the system because I have stayed there for too long. Well, as you can see above, none of my stays come even close to the 28 days mark (16 nights was the maximum and I have always stayed away from the hotel for 2 nights or more), therefore, he was wrong every single time. Also, it is important to say that every other person who works there, always made me feel very welcomed whenever I was checking-in or renewing the reservation. He was the only one who did not, quite the opposite: I felt and still feel like I am being a burden to him. Today, I went to renew my stay until January 12th and as usual, he tells me that there must be something wrong because I have stayed too long and he needed to check the system. Again, he was wrong and I will be staying here until January 12th. Needless to say, I have been feeling very uncomfortable with the situation because 1) I have never stayed even close to the 28 days mark; 2) I am paying to stay here, not begging; 3) I expected better from a hotel manager (especially when I have spent almost $4000) but instead, he just made me feel like a burden every single time. I would like to add that I will be staying in Newbury Park until July (on and off as I have been doing), but because of him, I am not staying at this Motel 6 location ever again. If he doesnt like to get paid, I am sure many other hotels in the area will be happy to have my on/off reservations until the end of July.
