Great Way to Start the New Year! The rooms were lovely-large and spacious. The outdoor shower was great. There's a nice outdoor area that has been recently built. They had a small a la carte menu. Food was good and portions were large. The best part was the safaris. Pilanesberg is great for seeing animals up close. We were able to see lions, rhinoceros, buffalo, cheetahs and lots of animals-and they were close. The lodge stay included two drives a day. Each drive was about 2-3 hours long. I would definitely visit again.

Excellent lodge with a dedicated staff teamWe really enjoyed our 2 days here. The game drives were the priority, of course, and Riaan went out of his way to ensure we saw as many animals as possible. He shared his immense knowledge of all kinds of animals and birds, which was almost as important as actually seeing them! Didn't get to see lion but cheetah (+cubs), hippo, rhinos, elephants, wildebeest, zebra, jackal, buffalo. Rooms are spacious and well designed with an outdoor shower as well as a full conventional bathroom. Honesty bar in the attractive lounge with fair prices. The pool if fine for cooling down during the day. Copious breakfast including a wide range of hot options cooked to order. Dinner from a short a la carte menu well prepared and nicely presented. Everyone on the staff team was friendly, courteous and keen to ensure we had a good experience. Highly recommended!

Best weekend getawayJacqui, the manager took care of us from the moment we were booked till we left, alerting us to all important events on site. Could not find a more responsive and friendly manager. Our rooms were airy, with the African touch, and lots of light. I love the indoor/outdoor bathroom ... you could sit in your bath tub or take a shower while watching your feathered friends (the birds) coming for a visit. The food was delicious and superb and the service impeccable! Ryaan, our game drive director (that is the name I would give him) found us things to look at in spite of the storm that occurred both evening drives that we were there. Storm usually scatter wild life ... they go into hiding. His knowledge is very extensive and passion for conservation was contagious. Morning coffee and sundowners ... we feel more like guests and friends on a visit than just visitors to the site. The crowning glory of our game drive - baby cheetah in a bush ... and hippos against a fabulous backdrop. There is not one thing I would have wanted changed. I would come back here again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Jacqui, Ryaan, Sylvia, David and your team for making my first visit to Pilanesberg unforgetable. I have been to many game reserves and lodges all over Africa, and you guys are still the top!!
