  Near jumbos and a lidi

  I stayed here with my daughter and grandson on the 9/16 August ,We were not given a warm reception and l thought the staff was rude and not at all helpful ,The breakfast was very basic and l didnt even go down after a few days ,l went through jumbos car park turn right and up the road about 20 yards there is a lidi ,l brought stuff in there to eat .You will find a large jumbos store behind the hotel they sell just about everything and its so cheap so leave some room in your case to bring some things home with you ,In front of lidi you will find a bus 402 takes you into the centre of Sofia dont ask me how the system works because we got on the bus sat with money in our hands and got off the bus still with money in our hands that happened both ways , we thought we would go on the free walk but then we found out it took in eight miles so we gave up on that idea and looked at the Park In the centre instead ,The cleaning in the hotel is done before you go in and very little after that ,l had to ask the maid to empty the bin ,but the funniest thing was the day before we left they changed all the sheets ,towels were changed daily ,The swimming pool is quiet nice plenty of beds with umbrellas but they open it up to the public at the weekends so can get crowded round it ,The hotel when l first entered reminded me of a brothel ,gold wallpaper ,swags and tails ,and red lights in the rooms then l found out they rent out rooms on a two hour basic ,We had room 221 right at the end of a very long corridor but the plus side to that was there was a lift up that end of the corridor that took you down to the pool ,which was handy ,but if your going try to put a two way gang in your case as they only have two plugs in the room ,in which are plugged the 10 watt red lights ,during out stay they were unplugged all week while we took it in turns to charge things like phones ,iPads ,DVD players ,The television had only about four English three were for kids and one for aldults ,no English news channel

  Loved it !!

  Beautiful hotel from entrance to exit staff so helpful window problem 5 mins later npz fixed n all room service amazing n staff v v courteous room was great massive bed very thick mattress so comfy fridge n small freezer air con great strong shower tv slimline with many English channels mirrored sliderobes n desk n chair n beautifully arranged in a Japanese fashion altogether a joy to stay my only complaint being only nearby shops a jumbos n a lidl mall of sofia v v close n on main bus route r a 6 taxi ride from town o n I almost forgot a lovely pool really exceeded my expectations in every way thank u montecito will b back !!!

  Relaxing, clean hotel with huge pool and many lounge chairs

  The staff works hard at cleaning the place in every area especially the pool. I am handicapped using a walker and these are the problems I encountered: 1. Narrow doorways had to go sideways to get in 2. LOw toilet seats not good for someone who has had a hip replacement and/or new knee replaced. Too low to the ground. 3. Bed is too LOW!! other mattress and put on top of the other one. 4. No box spring. Just straight board 5. Dress, pillows, and soft comforter were wonderful. 6. No recliner to stretch out to relax 7. No room to move about to get walker into larger area 7. Frig on floor; bending over all times vm Next swimming pool but good rentals to keep it quiet. Shower area very small right next to the sink Walker could not go into the room further than the bed, no room even sideways. Hotel needs to improve this for handicap people Receptionists were very helpful, pleasant, and beautiful smiles on their faces. I would come again here the trying to find a handicap room versus their normal. Its extremely hard for him to get personal get around especially rolling over a gate type fence used to get up the stairs Same with going over to the restaurant do you change from the hotel.

  A quite good hotel, 10 minutes to drive from the Sofia Airport. Big room, no hairdryer. Excellent dinner (you could appreciate the picture that I enclosed). The breakfast is quite normal. Staff very kind. Shuttle for the airport to pay (cheap).

  You Can Do Better

  The hotel appears grand and the staff were nice however you can get a lot better in Sofia for the money. I was paying 55lv a night for a cheap room. The drains in the bathroom smell really bad so had to keep the door shut. But my main complaint is the awful wifi! I could only pick it up when I stood by the door!! The decor in the room was very dated and and the bed and bedding was not comfortable. The restaurant wasn't bad but way too pretentious and the food wasn't up to scratch for the appearance. Free breakfast was nice enough but nothing special. No juice or water was a shame. I would not book again unless they address these problems.
