    Great option!

We stayed in Monodendri Hotel for two nights in the end of May and it was great! Monodendri village is a super pretty and picturesque place and it serves as the best option to do the Vikos gorge hike! (In any case it's either Monodendri or Vikos village the you can start your hike from) Anyhow, our room was great, spacious, spotlessly clean and with an amazing view to the gorge! The bed was super fluffy and comfy and we spent two magnificent nights of well rested sleep there! The toilet was big and the shower had the best pressure and it was ideal for our long, post-hike shower! :) The hotel is surrounded by the magnificent nature that is prominent around the whole area of Zagorohoria! It has been expanded with different wings with respect to the area's architecture. Last but not least I have to make a separate mention to the very good breakfast, with a big and luscious variety of sweet and salty options including yummy pies (the area is famous for its amazing pies and they respect the tradition), sweets, yoghurt, eggs, homemade marmalades and so on! Great option for the area! The only thing that may not be preferable for some is the fact that it's big and hotel-y, while some may prefer a smaller guesthouse rather than a hotel!

A pension, not really an hotel

A small pension, now called hotel. Very simple. Badly run. The owner was unpleasant to the children. Poor and very basic breakfast. No elevator (3 floors). No real Lobby. Not recommended. Centrally located.

    Very excellent hotel

We (couple) spend 2 nights here and highly recommend staying here. Rooms: very spacious, atmospheric and clean. All facilities available and there is a stunning view of the mountains. Good WiFi and internet connection. Staff: very friendly and accommodating. The owner speaks English very well and does not mind to have a friendly chat. He helped us with planning hikes. Breakfast: breakfast was delicious and plenty. Also diverse (breads, cakes, yogurt, sweets, fruits and more). Location: central in the village and 1 min walk to the town square. The hotel is an excellent start point for hikes into the canyon. The start of hiking trail is just a few minutes from hotel. There was enough parking space for car. Corona: the owner and staff are very professional about the hygiene rules and maintained this during our stay (i.e. staff keeps distance when interacting and wears mask and new gloves every time).

    Best stay in Greece!!!

A stay of attentiveness by the staff. We were looked after so well as vegans. Mario was so helpful in helping us plan our trek and he was always ready to make our trip as comfortable as possible, caring after our every need. Couldnt have been a better location and the room was so comfy. Beautiful views. Felt very peaceful.

Excellent place to stay in small tarditional mountain village

We planned to stay only one night at Monodendri Hotel but extended for a second night because of Mario, the friendly and welcoming owner. He gave helpful advice on the various hikes around Vikos Gorge and provided a packed lunch for our hike. In this small hotel, each room has a different style and colour and all were spacious, spotlessly clean and had views. Breakfast, in the open terrace, varied each day and was tasty and filling. Mario was careful with Covid-19 precautions which we appreciated. Parking is available in front of the hotel and we enjoyed our traditional evening meals at The Taverna next door.
