  Buen hotel a buen precio

  Lo mejor, la excelente atención del personal del hotel. Ubicación cerca del pueblo y de la estación de tren desde donde se puede coger el tren a Cinque Terre (a 5 minutos andando). La relación calidad/precio es excelente teniendo en cuenta los precios que se manejan por aquella zona.

  Very nice

  Its my second time to Moneglia and I absolutely love this place!!! The quaintness and Beauty of this town is unparalleled!!! However, The hotel is located up on a very steep hill. Our view from our room was non existent (although it was advertised as a sea view) and the trek up the hill with luggage is TOUGH!!!! There is no hotel taxi service. We were willing to pay for the local but the taxi had left for another commitment. ( the town is small, but this lends to its uniqueness) The room needs some updating, the verandas by our room are nice but not private and the pool is wonderful but towels are hard to come by. The breakfast is exquisite and the breakfast staff is awesome! The staff at the front desk .....a little on the cool side.

  Excellent stay at Hotel Mondial

  Mondial is located almost on top of a small hill above Moneglia. We had some difficulties to find the right exit from the main road through Moneglia. By car it`s the only way to find the hotel. There is a small car park benath the hotel. Not too many spaces, but the hotel owners took care of the car once we arrived and parked it for us. Very nice hosts. We had booked a room with sea view and a nice terrace and balcony. There`s a wonderful seaview from all rooms facing west and we did enjoy mornings and afternoons outside.The bathroom was nice, however the door to the shower was just about big enough to allow me inside. AC worked well and the room and bathroom was cleaned nicely every day. Mattresses was perhaps not as firm as we prefered, but was ok for some days. Breakfast was typical Italian. Not too much to choose from, but it included the most neccessary. Never tried the cakes. Nice capuccinos could be ordered in the bar. Nice gym and pool indoors. I used the pool a few times. Nice and clean. Hotel is located a 5 mins walk down to city center and a little more to walk up again. If you come by train there`s a footpath up from the station area. We took the train to Cinque Terra and Sestri Levante which is really convenient. Forget the car if you`re going there. Train is much more convenient and rund almost every hour. Would love to go back to Mondial.

  Contrasting ExperiencesMostly Good

  Family of 3 booked a standard room and were severely disappointed on checking in, feeling that the website and Trip Advisor reviews were very misleading. Lobby area was unimpressive, our room [56], even less so. Small, spare an, at best, utilitarian. Except for the fact that the AC, much needed, didnt work properly and the refrigerator, not at all. The exercise equipment, important to us, was in terrible condition, essentially unusable. Further, we were told that earliest use would be 9 amvery much inconsistent with our needs. But! Management was responsive and moved us to a vastly nicer room [122]which undoubtedly costs a great deal more. Large, modern, with a kitchenette. Well appointed. Everything worked. Management permitted use of the very limited exercise equipment but huge indoor swimming pool earlier than is its custom. Management was responsive at every turn. WiFi was free but slow. Included breakfast was quite good. Parking cost 5 euros daily. The hotel is about a 5-8 minute walk to the train station, if trains are your method for accessing Cinque Terre. Be prepared for navigating significant hills, short but relatively steep, to and fro the train station and the town. There are several restaurants available in town, about a 15 minute walk. Be well apprised of how to reach them on foot as streets are angular and you need to be equipped with a sense of how to get to where you want to go. We enjoyed dinner twice at Monile. Absolutely great pesto. Restaurant is next to the beach and ocean with some limited outdoor seating. Management clearly tried its best to make things right. It succeeded. If ratings allowed a 3.5, thats what I would accord the hotel.

  Excellent hotel and friendly staff

  Moneglia is a very well situated place to visit Cinque Terre, Portofino, Portovenere, Genova... You don't need a car because the railway station is nearby. There are a lot or restaurants in this small town. You can also reach the beach by walking. Hotel Mondial is very clean and has a very friendly staff. The breakfast is excellent and the room is comfortable and cleaned every day. When you want to visit this area, Mondial is really perfect to stay.
