  Monastic grace and relax...

  We chose to stay at the 'Monastery of Grace', a real Cistercian monastery now adapted into a hotel and restaurant. In Foce di Amelia (Tr). There are 15 apartments, elegant and with all amenities. Free Wi-Fi, TV and kitchenette. A beautiful swimming pool with Jacuzzi surrounded by greenery and so quiet! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They speak good English. The kitchen is excellent and natural accompanied by a fine selection of wines. The price is very good in comparison to the service and the location.

  Well .....

  Where do I start .... at the very beginning of course . Just turning up at this imposing edifice is humbling , being virtually the only occupants was boggling . It was mid-week we were on our way ,ambling, to Rome . By this point in the trip I would have been quite happy to stay in Italy forever , after the cloying desperation of England the relief had been palpable getting out of there . If you get a chance to stay here - take it . The surroundings are very beautiful , the rooms are beautiful . Breakfast is lovely and the Coffee was fabulous . Being in an OLD Monastery really really sets the scene . It is surreal .... The staff are characterful to say the least BUT they were professionals and did their job well - I really liked them . There must be other old Monasteries you can stay in BUT this was the coolest
