  Not quite there.

  I agree with the previous review regarding the quality/service provided by this hotel and similar hotels in Austria - there is still a long way to go to meet the same standards. The strong point of this hotel is its restaurant - I felt that it was more of a very good restaurant with rooms than a hotel with restaurant. The daily menu was excellent value for residents and of a high standard and the wine list was imnpressive. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. The rooms were starting to look worn - again, nothing special. The most annoying aspect was the Wellness area. This is quoted as being free but when you go to use it you discover that: - you need to buy a special pair of slippers from the hotel at a cost of 3 Euros - you can't use your own, even if they are new. - no towels are provided in the Wellness area - you have to use a bathrobe and if you haven't got your own with you, you have to hire one from the hotel for 5 Euros. - the whirlpool works with a coin that costs 7 Euros - it lasts for about fifteen minutes but takes five to fill up. We enjoyed ourselves but did feel that it wasn't enough just to have an excellent restaurant - the hotel needs to be brought up to the same standard too.

  About the cellar: what a treasure chest !

  We've only passed by this hotel to visit the cellar and get some drinks. The guy that welcomed us immediately went further than expected: he invited us to visit the whole cellar, and to taste some special wine, partly to figure a little more what we were looking for. We stayed there much longer than it normally takes, specially because the guy was so friendly (and also to finish the bottle he opened...). We didn't had the occasion to have a meal there, sadly, regarding the menu. Next time I hope ! Anyway, best wine place in the area

  Very nice stay with family

  We stayed for some days in summer holidays with teenage kids and dogs and liked it very much, very nice staff, wonderful food for dinner, great wines. Peaceful, quiet, clean, friendly, very good value and good location for hikes in the Dolomites. Great 1h walk after 20min drive to Malga Dignes and from there 1.5h hike up to Austrian border.
