run downwhat a pity, such a good potential location right above the river gorge and no one can see it, as the maintenance is non existent, no one cuts the bamboos or trees to keep the once certainly spectacular vie, other areas as well delaptidated , only savig grace are the spacious rooms and the at least for the rooms existing leaning.

Nice place in the middle of jungle near the riverIt is a nice remove place in the middle of the jungle on the river bank. It looks quite old and maintenance is poor. But the up side is the nature and the staff which was very nice and helpful. Check this place out in your gps map before you go. It is not easy to find it for the first time. Restaurant works until 8 p.m. But there is a good view from it. They serve breakfast in the morning (eggs, toasts, butter, jam, instant coffee, tea). Our bungalow was quite far from the car park. But they helped us to move our bags with motorbike. That was really far and the road was crappy. Overall I liked staying there.

a unique idea that needs work!I agree with the other reviewers that this place is rundown. You get the impression that the staff struggle to meet their guests' needs. The food is average and takes a while to arrive. So be prepared to wait. The grounds need some upkeep. I felt worried about letting my eight year old explore on his own. On a positive note, you do feel that you are in the middle of nowhere. The jungle sounds at night are very soothing. I think we all slept very deeply the two nights we stayed here. I would return if the owners invested in it. I have not come across a place quite like this!

Deserted. Creepy. Waste of a potentially beautiful property. This might be long but WORTH READING. My boyfriend and I live in Bangkok with our dog, and we like to book little nature getaways for the three of us. We are used to staying in places that aren't rated the best, and we prepare our expectations accordingly. We booked momchailai because it was pet-friendly, and seemed to have the basic amenities. BOY WERE WE EVER WRONG! 1. This is located far from EVERYTHING, which we knew. However, this became and issue once we learned that their advertised restaurant is deserted and doesn't exist. 2. It is a stunning property but the issue is that there is zero upkeep. You are in a beautiful forest retreat which turns out feeling you are in the blair witch project and most buildings are deserted and the forest has taken over again. 3. We were the only guests. The 2 staff we saw seemed quite bothered by us and amused that there would be no place for us to eat on the property for the next few days. 4. No bicycles, no shops, no wifi.. EVERYTHING that is advertised for this property, on tripadvisor, booking.com, agoda, is FALSE. 5. They invested in nice things for the room , a beautiful bathtub, new sinks and tv, but the rest of the place is so creepily abandoned that you feel anxious more than relaxed. 6. If it wasn't for our own cell phone service as residents of Thailand, we would have had no way to contact another resort to pick us up and cut our stay here short. We would have had to spend days here with extremely minimal food options, and no chance at arranging activities as the staff are pretty much nonexistent. If we were tourists without a cell phone plan, well, we would be in big trouble. 7. We were the only guests there, so you would thinkg the staff may upgrade you to a better room just out of normal hospitality or something, but we were put at the VERY BACK of the huge property. We kept our porch lights on overnight and although very few people are on this property, someone managed to come to our porch at 3am and turn off our lights. 8. For 1500 baht a night this is completely inexcusable. They should be asking 1000 baht a night max, and be absolutely clear about what they are. A rustic, remote, off-the-grid experience in the forest. Do not book here unless that is what you are looking for. And even if you are, make back-up arrangements. Such a shame because with a bit of cheering-up, the place could be full of customers! But, they don't seem to care about that.

Wouldn't recommend itOverall the facilities could be nice, but are rather neglected. Overall clean, besides the sheets for the bed. There is no laundry service, even though announced. The staff is friendly, but not very eager to help - no maps, no support in organizing tours or anything the like. Since the hotel is very remote, it is difficult to get organized and some of the service they offer is overpriced. Breakfast is included - one can chose between AB and Thai breakfast. There is no fruits, milk, or musli - if you prefer any of that you better bring it beforehand since the staff will not get it for you and the next shop is about 40min walk. All in all the stay was rather frustrating since you feel a bit "left in the jungle" - since it was a hotel and not a camping site, this was not what we expected. Also: we were the only guests. Staffs level of English is below average. Value for money is rather low.
