  Amazing location but "the road to hell" to get there

  We arrived after an awful wind, sand, dirt swept 3hr drive from Maun in an open safari wagon (our guide and driver aka bush ranger from Safari DMC Ltd were cosy toes in the cab!). This is a wonderful location with game all around. We has tent 13 but it was our friends in no 12 who had the lion pug prints outside in the morning . It's a shame that it was another 1hr bone shaking white knuckle ride to get to Khwai Gate. Would suggest flying up next time and staying closer to the park. The lodge team arranged a lovely birthday surprise for my husband. Unfortunately their packed lunch left a lot to be desired.

  Elephant and Giraffe Lodge

  The road to the lodge is terrible, 4x4 is a must if your planning on driving there yourself! The rooms were neat, but hot and bathrooms were spacious. The wildlife walks in between the tents at night which is a great experience (if you don't sleep through it). Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalo and Impala are seen the most when taking a game drive. Our guide was good he always made sure we saw the animals up close to get a good picture. Best to go to the lodge in winter to escape the most heat!

  Next time

  We booked it thru Exoticca UK .We paid for it. And their Botswana agents, Safari DMC Ltd ,took us to the £40 a night DUNCANS Camp, no pool, no bar, no restaurant, 2 1/2 hours from Moremi.And DMC told us Mogotlho had changed its name... Still trying to get our money back from DMC Safari, and Exoticca. Fellow tourists- note the 2 names. Mogotlho are entirely blameless. We were all looking forward to our 2 nights there....

  Great stay!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with friends. The lodge staff are all friendly and helpful, nothing is too much effort. On arrival we were greeted with ice cold welcome drinks and everything was very clearly explained to us. Our tents were well appointed and clean. The he addition of fans helped with the heat. Our guide was named Sox and although quite shy initially, he did warm up to us. We were blown away with our trips to the Mbabe Depression. Huge numbers of bird species gathered together, 1000's of buffalo and wonderful elephant sightings. The food was simple, but well prepared, delicious and bountiful. Just what you need in the bush. My favourite was the pea soup, it wassuperb. Apparently the lodge is going to undergo a renovation and upgrade, it does need this as it is looking a little tired. The area is just beautiful, the summer rainfall has really allowed this concession to shine. The lodge is built on the river which guarantees some bird and animal viewing. We hope to stay here again. Thank you to Sego and her staff for looking after us so well!

  What a great time

  Everyone went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible! Thank you to Brendan, Andrew, Kurt and Bright to just name a few, all your time and effort was greatly appreciated! What an amazing place to relax and unwind and just enjoy.
