Charming stately hotelAfter spending a busy week in Tokyo and Kyoto, we spent a few restful days at the Mizno Hotel. We were greeted in the parking lot and brought into the beautiful lobby. Beautiful paintings in the comfortable lobby awaited us. There is a gathering area with books and morning coffee. I love an older grand hotel and this checked many boxes. Our room was as advertised with an amazing view of Kawaguchiko and Mt. Fuji. Although Mt Fuji was hidden until the morning of our departure. Be sure to make reservations for the traditional Japanese dinner, kaiseki ,in their dining room. A multi course event that was not only pleasing to the eye but also the pallet. The French course was also delicious. We will return to this area again someday and we will stay again at the Mizno.

Great for a weekend getawayWe spent one night hear to get away form the Tokyo hustle and bustle. The hotel is located uphill a few hundred meters from the main road. The place has a great atmosphere and staff goes out of their way. We had a balcony room, which offers a great view and has all you may need. Private onsen on the rooftop is an absolute plus. Would certainly go back here if we need to get away from busy Tokyo!

Best experience everFelt looked after from the time we pulled up into the car park to when we checked out. Waking up to a clear view of Mt Fuji was one of my highlights. The view of Mt Fuji and lake Kawaguchiko was phenomenal. Also had the best time at the bar with Sammy the bar manager! Hes a really sweet and wholesome person :) He made us a matcha cocktail that was off the menu called the Sweet Sam Matcha (would recommend) 12/10 experience

On a clear dayWe stayed 2 nights, and were so fortunate to have a clear day, for the most sublime views of Mt Fuji over the lake, take your photos early morning just magical. Loved the hotel, it felt very cosy, its like an old English hotel, with an eclectic art collection, comfortable leather lounges, great public rooms with open fires and lounges so you can sit and look at the view. The onsen is great, with the outdoor baths overlooking the Lake and Fuji. Convenient shuttle from station, you can arrange transfer by seeing staff in tourist office who will contact hotel, it only take a five minute drive.

Only stayed 1 night, but what a great night it was - superlative hotelMy biggest regret was not booking more than 1 night. We was lucky enjough to arrive when the clouds were clearing and we ere treated to a 2 hour uninterrupted and sunny view of Mount Fuji. The view from our balcony was delightful and the onsen was quiet, clean and very relaxing. The food was superb throughout, the traditional Japanese dinner was one of the best meals we enjoyed and the westernised breakfast was delightful (and great for those that find some of the Japanese breakfast options a little challenging so early in the morning). We loved the lounge area, the fun and colourful object d'art, paintings and photographs displayed with the vast array of art and design books on offer along with the complimentary coffee. This place definately warrants a 2 night stay, not just for the hotel, but to sample the many things this area has available in general. Only complaint was the roof top bar service was a little on the cool (chilly) side, however the rest of the staff were warm and welcoming and professional. Would love to come back here! Don't hesitate booking....there are good reasons for the excellent reviews - this place is an absolute joy to stay in!
