Summer stayVery nice resort. A bit dated but comfortable. The resort is nicely located between many of the best attractions. Dining is about a 20 minute drive but being in the mountain makes driving for meals well worth it.

Old-Fashioned -- Miserly and CurmudgeonlyMost staff were nice, though multiple attempts to reach the hotel the day of check-in went unanswered. The clerk explained she never answers the phone on Friday evenings when they do all their check-ins (an amazing admission of underserving their customers and a problem the management could easily solve). On checkout, one person who acted as though she owned the place (and may have) yelled at me from an open window about the placement of my car when packing to leave. On top of that rudeness, she falsely claimed she'd been trying to reach me for an hour by room phone. When politely explaining why I was leaving late to the person yelling out the window (20 minutes, due to an injury, restricted occupancy in elevators due to COVID, only two luggage carts available for 46 units, and spending time speaking to the yelling woman and trying to reach the desk when they didn't answer) the yelling woman said she was charging me $75 for the late checkout and slammed the window shut as I was speaking. I requested but was not given the opportunity to speak with her or anyone at the desk after that time. (And when earlier I had tried to call to let them know of my situation, there was--you guessed it--no answer at the desk.) Other issues: Furniture was like a poorly funded college dormitory. WiFi was terrible, outdated by roughly 20 years and I'm not exaggerating - they said you could "check email" and that was all, and they were right. TV offerings were poor, and one needed to bring DVDs or downloaded content to watch anything not on live channels (no Netflix or streaming was permitted on WiFi and cell service precluded personal hotspot or cellular data) which might have been fine if I had known ahead of time. Bathroom linens were, in one case, absolutely positively threadbare with holes and tattered corners. No shampoo offered, only bar soap. Kitchen was mostly good but could have used a sponge for washing dishes, more than one brillo pad for an entire week, a rubber scraper, and sharper knives but those are minor points. No AC which is ok in that region but fans were not set up to draw air in/through the rooms and one wall fan was partly held up by the electric cord, a clear fire hazard. I would like to give a great review because most staff were nice and the location is great, but the lowest quality RCI experience I have ever had. Looked and felt like a shoestring budget. Great for nearby hiking but not for comfort.

Horrible ResortRequired masks be worn outside of rooms. Held you hostage in your room if you had a medical exemption (even document from doctor). Worst trip EVER! They also fined you $100 to your credit card for your room if you removed your mask. Would never recommend going there! Total scumbags and they weren't even nice about it!

Traumatizing check inResort is under lock down, you have to call to get someone to come let you in the resort to check in, then she spent 90%of the check in process to tell me all the fines that would be imposed if we broke any rules (no mask, lose keys) All $100 fine. When I went back to the car i was so depressed. The next evening we went to our room and the lock was broken and we could get in. I went to the lobby and the office was closed (6pm) There was a sign with a phone number to call if we needed something. Called for 15 minutes with no answer. My husband finally got the lock to work (1/2 hour) trying. The next morning we were checking out and there was still no one to be found. Also the bar/ restaurant on the property is closed, even though on there web site it says its open. Will never go back

nice ski vacationMy daughters and I were able to enjoy several days of good skiing at Cannon mountain while staying at Mittersill Alpine Resort, which is located nearly within walking distance of the slopes. We were somewhat nervous upon reading many of the reviews about the resort but we were pleasantly surprisedby the accommodations. The unit was a little dated in the furnishings but it was very spacious with a well appointed kitchen. It brought back many fond memories of stays in Austrian and German towns from when I lived in Germany 20 years ago. I would no t hesitate to return to Mittersill again in the future. We were even able to enjoy a couple soaks in the hot tub after a few days on the slopes...even with the limitations due to COVID.
