  Short break

  Stayed with Bernie and Jo in January and, again in February for short breaks. Have stayed with them on many occasions and always have a great stay. Its so homely, immaculate, the extra touches are excellent and the breakfast is second to none. Hoping when things get back to normal to stay with them again.

  Consistently excellent

  This is now my most favourite retreat. I come back here again and again, several times a year because the accommodation, food and welcome from Jo and Bernie is always faultless. The rooms are comfortable and decorated to a high standard. There's a very good choice at breakfast, the full Dalesman's is my favourite (see picture) with everything sourced locally. Packed lunches are great and cheap if you're going to be walking into the middle of nowhere which isn't that far from village! The village has some smashing pubs all of which offer great food and a good selection of local ales. Jo and Bernie live in a whole village of incredibly friendly people. They couldn't make you feel more welcome. Try walking around the Dale, leave the car behind. Its a glorious part of the country and from there you can easily climb over into Swaledale, another stunning part of North Yorkshire, somewhere I would be proud to call my home.

  Wonderful

  Beautiful room, immaculately clean. Jo and Bernie went to great lengths to make us feel comfortable and safe. Delicious breakfast which set us up for our days walking around the local area. Definitely would recommend

  Cosy B&B in pretty village of Askrigg - perfect for exploring Yorkshire Dales

  We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting the area. Lovely welcome from Jo, the owner. All Covid protection was in place and we felt very safe. Lovely cosy room with very comfortable bed, hospitality tray and toiletries. Breakfast was excellent, very good choices and all beautifully cooked and hot. Food was better than we have experienced in some hotels. There is free parking and several places to eat in village. We would use again if we come back to the area which hopefully we will. A very good base for exploring the local Dales.
