A place to sleep, eat and launch your boat. What else do you need?

Its a place to sleep, eat and launch your boat. In my world that is all you need. My wife and I stayed in one of the efficiency cabins. I wasn't expecting much and I warned my wife before we went to also not expect much after reading other reviews. Well they did not disappoint. The cabin wasn't ready when we got there but no big deal. We took a ride down to the Rod and Gun Club to check it out as that is where we would depart from with our fishing guide for the next day Capt. Charlie Phillips. The guy at the front counter at the cabins called us a short time later to let us know the cabin was ready. The cabin was clean. Perfect. The bed was comfortable. Another bonus. There was a coffee maker. This place is awesome! Just so you know keep your expectations low and you will enjoy your stay. This isn't the Hilton! We had dinner on our last night there at the Oyster House. The service was fine and the food was good. Its not a 5 star restaurant. If that is what you are looking for you stayed at the wrong place. I doubt you will find one in Everglades City. If you are into fishing, wildlife, and the outdoors this is a place for you. If not you might want to by pass and head on over to Miami.

Many problems with this place - unresponsive staff.

There were several maintainance items that we reported that were not taken care in the four days we were there; burned out bulbs, broken coffee maker, screen not attached properly to the porch (letting bugs in), a broken window fixed with tape (again letting bugs in), and an unresponsive staff. We were told the room would be cleaned and towels replaced every two days. This never happened. The manager was never on site, and all we got were empty promises that things would be taken care of. We had lizards and cockroaches visiting in the cabin during our stay. We paid for this stay through a third party, which is why we didn't leave after the first night. Honestly, just a little maintenance and accountability would have made a huge difference.

    Lousy Customer Service

We were looking for a rustic experience off the beaten path so we rented a one-room cabin in Everglades City, a good location for many of southern Florida's attractions. We stayed there four days and nights and the room was never cleaned even though we were told it would be. We never got fresh towels. The cabin comes with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine. The light over the sink was broken so we notified 3 different employees four different times. We were always told it would be fixed the next day but it never was. The coffee machine didn't work so we notified the attendant on duty. She gave my husband a dust covered one with a dead cockroach in the electrical cord opening but at least it worked after we cleaned it. One of the windows was broken and had clear packing tape on it. Either that or the tear in the "screened in" front porch allowed a lizard into the cabin. Fortunately my husband and I like wildlife but we draw the line on cockroaches which we found in our bathroom. The double bed sagged in the middle and had a too large mattress pad that kept sliding off to one side or another. One of the more competent employees said he'd ask the owner if we could be compensated for the lack of light repair or room cleaning but we never heard back. We didn't mind the need for repairs in our cabin as much as the lack of responsiveness from management. One employee said the broken light had been mentioned many times. We should have saved our money (just under $200 per night) and brought our tent.

Sleeping, bathing and hit the road

A half log cabin at a boat launch spot at the outskirts of Everglades city. OK, if you just need a place to sleep, and a bath before you hit the road again. You can get fresh sandwiches in the shop in the morning, and there is a coffee maker at the room

    DON'T GO HERE

The cozy cains website photos are from before the hurricane in 2017. So are most of the reviews. The marina, store and restaurant are gone or closed. The cabins are run down. The owners use booking companies to insulate themselves from unhappy renters. When you have problems, no one cares. The c.c website should come down, it is not accurate. Find somewhere else to vacation!
