  Christmas lunch

  Booked lhnch for four people at $90 a head. This is for a 3 course all drinks included. This idea was appealing as we had to travel 2hrs and didnt have time to prerpare lunch. It started with a se lection if seafood or chicken/rice dish. Thed chicken was just nice and thed seafood was 2 small prawns, 2 oysters and some antipasto. Lets say very small all round. Thd mains had a choice of 3 dishes, salmon, lamb rack and 3 meat christmas roast. Some had the lamb and roast, the lamb was nice it appeared well cooked but just nice. The 3 meat roast was nice but the ham appeared to be 1 slice from the local deli and the rest was good. Dessert also was ok, we had the traditional pudding and an eggnog. Overall a little disappointing, i must admit i left feeling full but i also think that was due to a large christmas eve dinner with family and friends. The Millers has always produced great food when i have visited with my elderly father but on this occasion i was let down. We just expected a little more quality for the money - as a very well known restaurent in Bendigo (Rocks on Rosalind) does a banquet meal that is top class for 65 a head or 110 with matching wines. Yes the 90 jncluded drjnks but unless you are staying a while and drinking heaps of alcohol the value wasnt there. So would i do Christmas at Millers again, i would sadly say no. It is a great location for my lunch or dinner meal but not this time.

  the manager who signed us in, was very helpful...

  nice room, great location, helpful staff. our stay was just an over-nighter, but overall, we were very pleased with the Millers Inn....thank you....we picked up a quick bite in the bistro, very pleasing, the young fella at the bottle shop helped us find our way around, as we were from the country..the Manager (girl at the desk) who seemed to be very busy, was a very pleasant, happy young lady, who was also very helpful...

  Long Wait for food

  A simple venue which I visited as a senior because of the good deals. Whilst ordering my meal, I heard an altercation between the cook and some customers. They had waited 45 mins for their dessert and cheered when it was ready. The cook immediately told them they were rude. They asked how they were rude and explained after a 45 min wait they were happy to get their dessert. The cook was uncompromising, you were rude was his mantra. I was surprised at his vehemence but took little notice until I waited 40 mins for my meal. This is an average fast cook establishment. My meal (a special), of baby barramundi fillets with chips and veg gave me cold veg, a single fish fillet ( barramundi?), and chips that varied between hot and barely warm ( although the plate was warm). When I ordered, someone from the depths of the kitchen had shouted and were busy. I counted 7 tables, 5 of which were served 15 mins before myself. Not good enough. IF you are busy, inform the booking person and warn patrons. A short distance away is the Altona Bowling Club. Similar food, similar prices, if they are busy they will warn you. They are interactive not accusatory. Go there before Millers Inn. I am a member of both establishments.

  Run down sports bar

  Shabby sports bar. Poor TV screens, seating and sound. Suited the horses run Id backed and found this near venue to watch on. A few loyal locals about but needs some financial love to make the TAB facility up to scratch.

  Great location

  We stayed here for a week in the family room with friends whilst our daughters had Intensive dance training. The staff were amazing, and very friendly. Whilst the rooms arent very modern they were spacious, clean and the bedding very comfortable. The location was great with a bistro downstairs (great food), Woolworths and chemist next door. Would definitely stay here again.
