My Home In JamaicaMillsbrooks always meets my unique travel needs when I come to Jamaica. Ive stayed there multiple times and every time it gets better. The accommodations and service is superb for my needs. I prefer vacationing in a home like atmosphere with access to visit non-touristy areas. I love it there, and anyone who states otherwise probably would fare better at a place where its commercial and gimmicky. For me, I love embracing the culture of where I travel...I can stay home and live like Im at an all inclusive overpriced resort. To each his own, and Millsbrooks is mine.

Disaster - PLEASE do not have a wedding hereIn April 2018, my fiance and I visited Milbrooks Resort as a potential wedding venue. At that time, we met with the owner of the villa, Richard Wright and the wedding planner on site, Joan Jackson. On that date we were shown around the property, where the potential festivities would take place and the bridal party suites in the main house. Upon return to the States, we signed a contract totaling $2500 usd for an August 2019 event date. We arrived to Milbrooks on 2 days before for our wedding rehearsal. On that date, Mr. Wright pulled me to the side to inform he had "accidentally" overbooked the venue. He said that his guests were staying at the villa and that we could no longer use the bridal suites we were previously shown because they were occupying it. In fact, we were told we could not take pictures in the main house either even though that had been discussed. He further stated that said guests would not be on the premises on the day of the wedding. He then showed me to his "guest house" as his only alternative. The guest house was not as large or comfortable as the suites in the main house. At that time, we also noticed the AC units were not working in the guest house but was assured they would be fixed by the wedding day. For the inconvenience Mr. Wright informed me that I would receive half of my money back. I was astonished that Ms. Jackson, who works at the villa said nothing before that date about the mishap. On the day of my wedding, we arrived (at the agreed time) and the guest house was not ready. His workers were just cleaning the place and it smelled of bleach and cleaning products. Upon turning on the AC, it never worked. A fan was provided to the ladies but none for the men getting ready. Still, the fan was extremely inadequate and we were told that was the best he could do in close to 90 degree weather. During the wedding reception, Mr. Wrights guests were on the premises even though we were told they would not be there. They took pictures of the event and even helped themselves to our wedding cake. When my mother approached Mr. Wright to kindly ask his guests to refrain from engaging in any wedding activities, he told her Why dont you go talk to them, this is a public space and I cant make them do anything. Our other wedding vendors, who had worked on the property before informed my husband and I that Milbrooks is known for their extreme unprofessionalism, rudeness and that "overbooking" is something they always do, From the start of wedding planning Ms. Jackson was extremely unprofessional. She would take WEEKS to respond to texts or emails. On the day of the wedding, she was supposed to coordinate and did no such thing, Half the time she was nowhere to be found. She had promised there would be cold towels for our guests, no such thing. We brought items for kids to play with, she did not put them out. Our wedding was beyond late because of her and her staff. She would be much better off with a team and not doing everything herself. She said there would be AC units under the tents for my guests, she had blowers instead, After the wedding when I attempted to get my money back, Mr. Wright said he never agreed to give me half my money back, but only the cost of one-night stay in the master suites (where the bridal party was to get ready). For weeks he would not give me a straight answer and I had an attorney contact him. He agreed to give me a portion of my money back and requested my banking information to wire the funds (which he received). Since the fall of 2019 it has been excuse after excuse as to why he cannot provide me a refund. Mr. Wright has ignored my calls and assured me the refund was on its way. However, as of January 2020, I have yet to be compensated for the extreme inconvenience. I am extremely disappointed that I decided to business in Jamaica, especially because my family is from the island and was looking forward to a joyous and memorable occasion. Sadly, it was a disaster. From Ms. Jackson falling short on her wedding planning duties to Mr. Wrights unprofessionalism, I am regretful for choosing this place to celebrate.

TOTALLY RUINED MY BESTFRIENDS WEDDING!These are the most unprofessional people I have ever met. My friend contracted with Milbrook and the owner Richard Wright for her wedding. Soon after she had paid her deposit, she began working with Joan Jackson, the wedding planner onsite. She made wedding planning horrible for my friend because she would take weeks and weeks to respond to emails or texts. When we arrived to Jamaica a few days before the wedding, my friend was told that the owner overbooked the venue and she would not have a private space as intended. Richard Wright was so rude to my friend and her family. He put them in some crappy guest house to get ready instead of the main house. There was no AC in 90 degree weather so everyone getting ready was miserable. Especially the ladies putting on makeup. The guests at the villa that were not supposed to be there ate her wedding cake, took pictures of her event and simply invited themselves to her wedding. When asked, Richard did nothing about it. He was even rude to her mother! He promised my friend he would reimburse her for half the money she paid to rent the space. Of course after, he never did. He would ignore her calls, promise the funds were on their way but no such thing. He is a liar and a thief. Please do not have any kind of special event here.

Please learn from us and dont even bother to stay here! NO to weddings, stay etc!This place a nice but staff and owner is horrible. Please read over the contract before you sign because you pretty much cannot get your money back. Richard Wright the owner is running a scam down there. I had my wedding here and unfortunately it was not what I expected. Thank goodness I had an outside person organize the wedding but our stay was not good at all. The food was not good, pretty much the same stale food over and over. My mom cooked food the night before the wedding because some extra people was supposed to come over for a meet and greet and the food disappeared when we came and them lying and saying they don't know where is it. This is food she went to the grocery store and paid money to buy supplies etc and ultimately we found out they ate it cause we saw one of the workers the next day eating the same food she cooked. He definitely does not need to book that 2nd small house cause the rooms are a hot mess, maybe only the suit is tolerable. In addition, the last night we were there there was a wedding there that he did not tell us about and the people were all in the house even though when we came back he said they would not be in there. It was just a mess, don't even waste your time or money! He needs to be shut down until he does things better and not just look for money from people without having any integrity.

THE Best Place MILLBROOK RESORT IN Montego Bay JamaicaI went to Millbrook resort several times. I had the best time. I was suppose to stay there for 4 days . I extended it for 7 days. I loved Walter the cook he was wonderful the food was awesome. They have snacks everywhere. The rooms was beautiful. I love the fact that they puck me up from the airport. We are planning another trip. I am planning my wedding there . Great staff ,clean rooms Thanks for you service. *** Note The last time I visited I was very sick the owner suggested a doctor and only did I got better since I have been back home I have not allergies, colds ,flu nothing. I don't know what they did but thank you.
