  Disappointing

  My sister planned a lovely weekend for 5 of us as a surprise for our mother who doesnt get out much. Location was great, however no place to park while we checked in and got the keys for the car park so we had to go around the block twice before we found a spot. Upon walking into the room it smelled of stale cigarette smoke, it was very grubby with dirty prints on the bench, light switches, couch and coffee table. Blind in front of the door to exit onto the balcony was stuck at halfway, when we went outside the blind fell all the way down and the cord did not work to bring it back up. On the roof below our balcony was a dirty nappy, cigarette butts and dirty socks. There was no kettle we had to ask for one to make a coffee which they bought up a brand new one pretty quickly. The aircon was so clogged and under serviced it was yellow. Both kitchen and bathroom taps were loose and wobbly. My sister went to heat a bottle for her baby and the microwave actually sparked and smelt like something burning. That was the last straw, we were uncomfortable from the beginning but that made us not want to be there. We went to the front and my sister asked for a new room or refund, they were booked out so she got almost all her money back. Not 2 minutes after she got back to the room to help pack up our things the maintenance person came for the door with no mask on and walked in to check out the issues we reported. He didnt wait for us to leave and began trying to repair some issues by hand, then the cleaning team were already walking in and he shooed them out telling them to wait. Nobody apologised once or even seemed surprised we told them of these issues. First and last time at this accommodation, a great weekend turned into a late afternoon trip home.

  Do not recommend

  Horrible service. 0/10 recommend, would not stay again. BEWARE, they are money hungry and will do whatever they can to keep your bond. They will claim preposterous things and stuff you around. Absolutely appalled.

  Pleasantly surprised

  After reading the latest reviews, I was a bit apprehensive. We booked a premium 2 bed apartment which was less than $20 extra and worth it for more space and a second bathroom. All appliances worked fine and the kitchen was well stocked for 4 people. The apartment sleeps 6, so that would have been a stretch. The furniture is a bit big for the space, so I would not stay there with 6 people. Check in and check out were straightforward. It was plain that at some point there has been a water leak in the room (now repaired) which has resulted in a couple of wall patches and wonky floorboards. Due to COVID you cannot really use the pool or gym. The City Baths pool and gym and open across the road. I think it is important to note that this is a very good price for that much space in the Melbourne CBD. Parking is in the connected ALDI car park underneath. Franklin Street is currently home to building works for the new rail loop and you cannot pull up outside, but if you plan for that it's not a deal breaker. Tram is at the corner and the CBD and Lygon Street are an easy walk away.

  Very handy to the CBD

  This is a great place to be for central location. Just down the street from the markets, theatres and to central Melbourne. Our stay was ok. The room was basic but ok. The bathroom was pretty grubby and in need of a good clean and general work over. (Dirty door, tiles and generally looking worn) All that aside we parked in the building which was handy (but costly). We checked in at 3pm when we arrived but when we went to leave we thought it might be handy to leave the car parked until midday so we could go to the markets for a late breakfast. Unfortunately, this wasnt possible as they explained the room was booked for the next night. Annoying and a little surprising. Additionally we left two phone chargers in the wall sockets in the dinning area but when we rang and had a friend pop in to collect them there was only one? This just wasnt possible as they were there together for two phones. We accept the loss as we left them there but for one to go missing seems to suggest someone else gained one. Disappointing.

  Do not stay here

  Booked this for the aus open. Great location, terrible place to stay. The photos are a lie. The room had damaged walls, dirty doors, dirty Sofa, lousy kitchen with very limited utensils. The balcony had no seating and was the size of a porta loo. They provided the little milk tubs but not tea and coffee sachets? stains on walls. The apartment I was in, had terrible noise at 1am every night from someone upstairs. due to covid lockdown I had to leave early and am fighting my extra days I couldnt stay due to government health regulations and quarantine. Save yourselfs the stay at this lousy place and go somewhere else! I wish I read the reviews on google.
